self self self!

me me me!

If looking after myself and providing for my future is self self self then so be it.

I appriciate the problems faced my FTB and others, I was one myself. But I'm not going to sit around feeling guilty about it.

If you are that worried about everyone else, instead of buying a home for yourself, why don't you donate your deposit money to Shelter. They are a very good charity and help people with all sorts of housing issues.

No? Didn't think so.
unfortunately for you Its actually shelter I work for

any more pathetic sarcastic remarks you care to make a fool of your self with?

no it wasnt it was utter shight!

They spouting on about have a loverly life..... well how can people have a life when they spend 90 odd percent of their money on a mortgage?

They cant afford to see the wonders of this planet or go and do fun stuff, because greedy self centred people have talked up the market

So you want a nice house for peanuts so you can spend your little salary on luxury holidays, cars, parties and going out???

You sound very bitter Nelly and in my opinion probably deserve what life has thrown at you.

With all your posts you seem to be on here alot? If only you had spent a similar amount of effort back at school.

Also bear in mind that in most other counties around the world home ownership is not feasible for people. Considering this why is spending 90% of you salary a bad thing if owning a house is what you want to do?

I own a home and I still think you're a complete c0ck. So that throws your theory out of the window.

:money:

Well that's the exception that proves the rule ;)

But you're welcome to your opinion about me. For what it's worth, I don't feel the same about you.

I'm not getting into this slanging match, but I don't understand how 'house prices should track wages' in a free market economy. To me, that's on the same level as the ad executive's IKEA poem, a lovely image but a long distance from where we find ourselves today........Exactly how would it work and how much state control would be required to make it work?

....or is this just a place where we discuss hypotheticals?

Dont they do something similar in germany - mind you can you imagin if the average house price was set at say £50,000 there would be none left and it would be even harder to buy a house - there would be a waiting list to buy property similar to council lists now.

No your right its not the way to go but perhaps some state intervention was required a few years ago to stop all this.

But I do remember feeling worried about buying my flat in 2000 for 37,000 because people were saying that house prices were about to fall - Im glad I off loaded it when I did though because it is a studio flat so right at the bottom of the market and the first to crash. I sold it for £85k in September but dont think id get anywhere near that now. ( sold it to a btl'r)

If you have to resort to tactics like that sonshine your showing your arguments weakness big time

What sort of thick !!!!!! would say its a good idea that fundamental things like housing were out out reach of people?

Do you say the same when tesco put your food bill up?

or when British gas charge you 15% more for the heating

do you do a little dance when your councill tax rises?

I'll tell you what mate (and your beating off some heavy weight competition) but you are just about the most stupid person on MSE
Nelly, you are the one that when you lose the argument you always resort to calling people tw @t etc.
Now to answer some of your weak points.
Of cause I am not happy when bills go up, who would be.
But I expect council taxes to rise so that they can provide the same or better services for you down and outs.
You think I am stupid, hang on a minute, let me wipe this tear from my eye.
If being stupid was buying my first house at 18, instead of going to uni and wasting money partying the nights away well maybe you are right.
But lets have a moment to go over the facts.
I try to answer your questions with honest thoughts and you ooze filthy comments and blame everyone else for your failings.
You say that I am the most stupid person on MSE well as always when writing your ramblings you are thinking about yourself, just read through your posts again.
Remember we all make our own way in life, just because you have made bad decisions, dont keep taking it out on others who are a sucess.
For once stop hating yourself move on and we will try to help you to make something of yourself.
• We put our house on the market 15 months ago at 325000 and have just accepted an offer of 255000..........

I don't think Nelly was talking about government intervention - it's just basic economics that house prices rise with wages.Over the past few years they have risen unsutainably, making property unaffordable to the majority of people. Over the next few years we will see a fall in prices bringing them back in line with the long term average income multiple. No government intervention necessary, just market forces. ;)

Nothing thank you, I bought 2 years ago ( a wreck) and every penny has gone on refurbishing it,owned before for 8 years and had a big deposit
Its a HOME not an investment..

I bought my first house 4 years ago for £170K and have just sold it for £178K. Buying my next property for £248K.

Yes I missed out on the property boom by not buying earlier but so what. We hope to live in our next house for many years to come.
