I've written a quite a few comments this week and am wondering whether it is too good to be true. They do seem to be wanting lots of comments though. I think I read on their site that when you've done 50 comments, instead of £1 a comment, you receive £1.50. They also say that when you've done about 500 (I think) they will pay a one-off payment of £50.
We'll wait and see.
I know its a pain reading back through the posts, but I can confirm that I have already hit the 1.50 threshold before the site went down, £18 first week and £72.50 the second week before it all went pete tong.
Also, others in the thread have been paid, and when they hit the backlog, the majority of people using this thread seem have got their money eventually.
So, i would hold it as a fighting chance your going to get paid, if your comments were half decent.0 -
Hopefully if they keep on top of it they should close the comments before they get too many for each topic, but maybe that is asking too much! They could have changed their system and decided to stop sending out the acceptance emails, or am I clutching at straws!
The way I see it is they only need a certain number of comments per topic. They have to revue them manually, so between them starting to read a comment and finishing reading a comment dozens, if not hundreds of people could have posted more comments.
They may want 10 comments on a topic, but over night 1,000 people post comments for that topic. In the morning they read the first 10 comments, and accept them, meaning the other 990 people wasted their time.
I think what I am trying to say is they don't accept EVERY comment that is of an acceptable standard, they only accept the first XX ACCEPTABLE comments.
The more people writing comments, the more people will be rejected. And the more comments that are rejected will mean more rejection emails will not get send because they don't have time to send them.0 -

However, their website does state that they accept 80% of the submitted content, which surely means that they are looking for quite a few comments.
From looking round the old topics, the amount of comments range from 15 to 50 which means there must have only been 5 or 10 excess comments and even a few of these could be elimated because of simply not being of adequate quality.
Perhaps I am being too optimistic, but surely we should follow the guidelines given on the website and expect about 80% of our comments to be accepted, give or take a few percent. :T0 -

The bit about them accepting 80% of comments was there from then start. Before the web site was posted on here, and we hit them with so many comments the site went down for weeks.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking the site and do believe it is legit, but I also believe it is going to be the victim of it's own success. It just can't cope with the work load we have put on it.
It was posted as a site that pays, and we all jumped on it, and it went down. Gave some excuse about making the site more automatic and paypal only allowing them to pay 50 - 100 people per day.
This may be true, but it could also be that the person/people behind the site were not prepared for it's success. They just can't cope with the amount of commenter's it now has, they can't send emails to everyone that posts a comment ad they can't pay more than 100 people per day. Maybe they can't actually sell on all the comments they get.
I don't think the site is bad in any way, just that they were not prepared for the number of commenter's this forum could send them.0 -
Just a tip incase you were wondering, i've found they put up a batch of topics in the late morning, and then another batch around evening. This isn't true of every day but has happened several times. Also I think the assumption that it is an American company stems from an earlier post in this discussion where a person was given a contact address in an American city
Also, when they put up the new topics they often only close one or two of theprevious batch, this would suggest they do not fill up as quickly as we may think!0 -
I think you are right there actually Geordie Joe, I also think that they weren't expecting the volume of traffic!
I'm just hoping the new system has a better handle of things and they are simply just unable to cope with it all!
When it's all said and done, I just hope they have enough comments and pennies for all of us here on this forum!0 -
Thanks Andy, I spend a lot of time making sure sites aren't there to rip us off, . I don't think this site is one of them, it just can't cope with the numbers of users.
Thanks also to thompsop07, the quicker you get your comments in, the more likely they are to be accepted, so make hay while then sun shines.0 -
I am clinging to the thought that they wouldn't be adding new topics each day if they were foreseeing problems. So really hope things will go well this week.0

Hi all I'm new to the site, but not new to writers share, been writing for them more or less since day one, although they do have problems with pay pal etc so far I have found them legit, I do know who they are (stumbled on it by accident via a misguided link within the writers share site just before they closed down last time) - and seeing the clients they work with on their main homepage, I can only assume they would want to keep a good reputation.
I think many of you know already, anyhow it is a commerce & marketing site. Companies include Debt free direct, sofa sofa, sofaworkshop and lots more. Many I assume they are just building up new companies from scratch.
I'm a little in ore with posting the main web address of where our comments are used and the companies they are possibly distributed between as I don't wish to spoil this money making opportunity for any of us including myself, and the fact they have not advertised it anywhere suggests to me they do wish to keep it quiet. And also I believe many of you already know!
But either way it's a nice bit of extra cash; so I for one hope it last a while yet

Welcome to the forum Sue, hope you enjoy it.
Topics are closed today, while they are working on payments. They also know about topics being closed when you post a comment and are working on that too.0
