  • Yes Becky, I know how you feel, one closed as I was merrily writing a 600 word piece. Oh well, can't grumble as like you said, it is running smoothly and we are lucky to be in the 30 writers. I feel very honoured.

I actually think doing it via email and word is better than writing onto the site because it feels simpler and less likely to crash or whatever. Weren't some people writing before to find a topic had closed in the middle of their work? Well, that's not happening now and I think the email system is better.

My own famous last words! Yes the same thing happened to me - I wrote two of about 700 words and just as I finished the second one I saw the email saying the topic had closed. Gutted cos writing a long comment takes quite a bit of time reading and rereading it to make sure it flows and is relevant. I sent it in cos I know the other week they were flexible about just missing the deadline if you had already written one, but I guess this project was tighter, as indicated in the email. Mind you I thought they were defo going to accept two comments from every writer. We'll see. Juliette has said that if they can be used they will be, so I'm hopeful they will find a need for them soon and accept them. Maybe next time it's a limited project it's best to write to the lower word count so they get done quicker?

ps I feel guilty too, but I'm hoping our posts show there's life in the old dog yet (hope that is actually a bonefide (bonefido!) expression, I'm certainly not calling anyone on here an old dog!)

Hopefully it will not be too long before they can expand a bit. I'm on a guilt trip too but I am also very grateful for this thread as not long I received my topics my email went down for a while. I would have carried on writing if becky004 had not mentioned some of the topics had closed already. We must all be really keen! I am loving doing the writing, so long may W.S continue. Juliette is doing a great job.

does this mean that WS is back up and running? I've been out of the loop for a few weeks and seem to have missed a lot. I sent an email asking when topics would be back up but didnt get any reply. Are they limiting the number of people who are writing for them now? A bit disappointed as i enjoyed writing the comments that i had submitted and was looking forward to doing more writing for them. Never mind

Nothing much happening in here lately.

cleopatra4485 just posted this link in another thread. Go to the very bottom of the page and read the copyright notice.

Does this answer the question about what happens to our comments?

Just had a thought, if WS ever gets going again, will this mean we can get paid to write comments for them, sign up for uniqueopinions and get our own comments posted on our own blogs.

Now that would be cool! :j
  • I reckon you're spot on with that, GeordieJoe, that seems exactly the kind of stuff we've written...
