Sorry to have to be elitist Nicki, but unfortunately our original problems started with the fact that when we opened W:S to everyone we received 3000 comments over a 2 day period. Which got us started on the wrong foot.
Fruitloops - I'm sorry for misdirecting you to the site. However I'm glad you pointed out my mistake because i'm now working on providing a sign up section so that people who do want to be notified about the site reopening can put their names down. As soon as that is done I will make a post here.
Chollita - I'm glad to see your faith in W:S has been regained and i hope that i manage to keep that going.
Thank you for all your kind words - they have been appreciated0 -

Thank you for that.
I said it at the beginning (of the troubles), and I've said it a few times since, but I'll say it again. W:S weren't out to con anyone out of money, they were simply a victim of their own success, they just weren't prepared, or expecting the response they got.
I know, as time went by, I slagged them off for the lack of communication and payment I was owed, but the new W:S seems to be doing everything right.
I'm sure I can speak for everyone and say that we wish them well and when they are fully open we will forget the past and look forward to a profitable future.0 -
Hi all,
I have to agree, since working with W:S this past week via email, I only hope it keeps going. I understand the problems they had and with PayPal being as they are too, W:S must having been pulling their hair out.
Keep up the hard work one and all,
:T0 -
My 2p - which is consistent with all of my earlier posts on this Thread.Writers:Share wrote: »Sorry to have to be elitist Nicki, but unfortunately our original problems started with the fact that when we opened W:S to everyone we received 3000 comments over a 2 day period. To open the site on the same business model as was originally used leaves you and the writers open to exactly the same potential problems as has been experienced - a supply with which you cannot cope - I assume you appreciate that you may have to alter your business model?Writers:Share wrote: »Fruitloops - I'm sorry for misdirecting you to the site. May I say that leaving the site as it was on the 9th of May is NOT a positive sign imho - I fully recognise that you have concentrated on other matters - but it reinforces my doubts over the business model you have adopted, when other models, equally effective, are available, and which would prevent a repeat of what has already happened.Writers:Share wrote: »Chollita - I'm glad to see your faith in W:S has been regained and i hope that i manage to keep that going.
Repeating myself I know - but doing so deliberately - unless you alter your business model, keeping it going may be, and imho creates, an entirely false hope.Writers:Share wrote: »Thank you for all your kind words - they have been appreciated
W:S - you have addressed the past problems in a manner which deserve recognition, but do they deserve thanks - nope - not in my opinion, because the problems should not have arisen in the first place, and they did so solely because promises were made that were not, and could not be fulfilled.
Despite my words, I look forward to the continuation of W:S - but I hope you learn from the mistakes of the past - and a business model which cannot but create a supply overload was, and appears to remain, the single most transparent mistake of all. It requires a complete re-think imho!If many little people, in many little places, do many little things,
they can change the face of the world.

WARNING: Long Post Ahead
Hi MF,
Thank you for raising your concerns, which we do agree with. In terms of business model, the way we're working at the moment is on a far smaller scale in order to avoid past problems. This will gradually be scaled up and limits will be put in place on new writers before the site launches to prevent a repeat of the old problems. Unfortunately this whole process is trial and error and we're only learning because we made those mistakes before. I'm sure we’ll find more mistakes to make and learn from before this is all through. This time around we’re doing a gradual roll out of the site rather than a one off opening.
So far we're trying to address the highest priority problem, which was writers being unpaid. Now that this appears to be addressed we're making changes to the site to update it since as you say leaving it as it was at the beginning of May doesn’t look good.
At the moment we’re busy hashing out exactly what we can and can’t offer people because we don’t want to “over promise and under deliver” – sorry if I sound like a salesman.
However, you have obviously given this a lot of thought over the time that this has been running so if you have any suggestions or anywhere you think we can improve please let me know. This applies to everyone who works with us or wants to work with us. The better we can make the system, the more benefit you should be able to get out of it.0 -

I posted my comments largely to prepare other writers not to build up their hopes - too far - about how things may progress, and - lol - I will now offer you some thanks, ok - it is good to see your recognition of what I was attempting to suggest.
"Overtrading" is perhaps the most common of all errors in a new business - W:S was a classic example.
I would prefer to allow others to post - should they wish to do so - in reaction to these posts, and thereafter if you wish suggestions from me - drop me a PM, and we can take it from there, ok?If many little people, in many little places, do many little things,
they can change the face of the world.

I am one of the lucky 30 who are still writing for Writersshare. I have been very impressed with the excellent communication now. All my questions have been answered really quickly and I have been paid each day which is great. I think the original problem was that they were not prepared for all us keen moneysavers to swamp them as soon as the details were posted on this site. I sympathise with the PayPal problems too as my son is having terrible trouble with PayPal at the moment through no fault of his own.
In my opinion Writersshare are honest and I am very pleased to be still on board.
Maybe the way ahead for them is to gradually increase the number of writers so as not to be overwhelmed again.
So well done Writersshare!0 -
are they paying now last i read people was waiting and waiting0
