It looks like we're all fudged..
In some ways it is a good thing, lack of affordability means prices HAVE to come down, on the other hand I really want to move before the baby is born..0 -
I suppose we ought to to be thankful that we were rejected before we actually found somewhere and were then told there were no funds available.
I was upset enough as it was, let alone how awful it must be to almost have the keys in your hands.
Does anyone know how fair the co-op are, since we have already been rejected by TVHA on the affordability factor?0 -
Sorry about your dissapointed for the above people. I know how hard and frustrating all this malarky is. Ive been trying for about a month and a half now, im close to just giving up.
MOAT have been awful in my opinion. The left hand doesnt know what the right hand is doing, they dont listen to a word you say. Most of my responses were met with, "you have to be registered with us to bla bla" I felt like screaming at them in the end.
All these people who are having ago about the key worker thing: it is not that much help when you can hardly get it! Also, people in the police /teachers ect actually pay tax, dunno if thats a surprise for some people but they do, so essentially they pay their own wages! And why should they not get help? My partner and i live in a cramped house with my parents, were lucky and unlucky enough to live in the south east where prices are high and i bet my friend who has a young baby will be given a house at the drop of a hat. So yea, life is pretty unfair for everyone.0 -
Sounds like not much is going good for first time buyers in exepensive areas like the South East then... We still haven't heard from Catalyst.. I just wish they would tell us either way, at least then we could get on with something else to find a place before the baby is born!0

Sorry to hear of people's troubles, especially so close to getting their homes.
Must be so frustrating. xx
I am not looking at entering this for around 18 months but am now really quite worried about getting to that point where you make an offer and its all accepted but at the last hurdle you get turned down.
I could buy a house by myself... if properties drop around £40K

Well we're still being fobbed off by Catalyst... The entire department is in a meeting all day today, so no one can take my query. If they didn't spend all day in a meeting, maybe they could process these forms quicker?
The estate agent is also on my backside wondering why I haven't instructed my solicitor to proceed, or why the survey hasn't been arranged yet...
Very depressing..0 -

Hi Chris
Sorry to hear you are really having a tough time getting any information.
Fingers crossed they come back to you soon.Debt: just my mortgage0 -
You can apply for a 2 bedrooms. You can have one bedroom more than you need.
It doesn't cost anything to apply, so all you can do is apply and see if you are rejected or not. If not, then you will be assessed by a financial advisor..
I would strongly recommend buying traditionally though if you can!0
