New choice home buy

It is unlikely if you are bankrupt, for MCHB you have to have a good credit record.0

Rang them again today - NO FUNDS AT ALL LEFT!!!!
An absolute disgrace, a joke of a system. The girl questioned our address despite a letter sent to the right address on 2 July, she said we shouldn't have ordered solicitors despite it being one of their own panel solicitors and following THEIR step by step guide, then told us funds had 'ran out' last Wednesday - we spoke to them on Friday when funds were still available in Hampshire.
Now we have nowhere to live, with just under 5 weeks until my partners new job starts in the area.
My Choice Home Buy and Thames Valley Housing Association - avoid at all costs!0 -
Guys
Just be aware that even being accepted onto "Ownhome" and the "My choice schemes" does not guarantee the funds will be available if you find a property. If there are no funds available you sale will collapse.0 -
Yup, it will... I was lucky enough to get funding signed off for me though, even after people started screaming no funds. It was a long painful process though, and I wouldn't wish it upon anyone.
From registering with the scheme it has taken 3 months to get to this point. Even after having our offer accepted on a house it has taken them nearly 6 weeks to give us the go ahead with the funding. NOW we have to go through the regular stuff which will take even more time!0 -
Hi,
I'm doing My Choice Home buy at the moment and had a quick question.
I have had an offer accepted on a property, it is a maisonette with a 97 year lease.
I have just re-read my booklet (I've had it for a while as another sale fell through after three months as it failed building regs) and seen that it says 'leasehold flats are acceptable providing there are at least 99 years left on the lease - please check with Moat before proceeding.'
Has anyone bought a flat with Moat that had less?
I would give them a call, but just seen it and want to get some info before the morning.0 -
For everyone's info I called them this morning and they said it was fine!
I can stop worrying. About that anyway.0 -
Hope so, in my process (not with moat, but with Catalyst) it has been a journey of torment and no one knows what the hell is going on. From submitting the property information to them it took them 5 weeks just to confirm the funding for the loan, now I am going through the mortgage application (even though my IFA told me I had been approved already, but I guess he just meant agreement in principle!).
Good luck anyway, just hope you don't need to move in anytime within the next 5 months...0 -
TVHA have finally got their act together.
After a few weeks of them advising me they had everything they need, they decided the other day they did not have my signed undertaking, so I called the solicitors and got it sent...(although it was sent the month before!)
and then they call me a few days later to say they have not got Proof of ID....so I call the solicitors again and they fax it
yesterday they called to say they needed more information about the lease!
Finally they have all the information (or so they confirmed today) and I'm now waiting for approval to exchange. Hopefully this will come through soon - I put in an offer at the beginning of July - I cant believe how slow they are!0 -
I just pulled out of my purchase because it was taking too long and causing us way too much stress to be worth it in this current economic climate.
Good luck with it all, hope it goes better than it did for me0 -
Oh god Chris Im sorry to hear that. How much money have you spent on this episode, not too much I hope:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0
