Cheap Car Service Dealers
Any chance the mods here can create a forum for the 'Cheapest Car Service' Dealers?
(Appologies if this is in the wrong forum!)
I for one am sick of being ripped off by dealers (STEALERS!) who charge the earth for servicing my car! I live in Manchester and drive a Ford Focus 1.6 - when I recently booked it in for a service, I was flabbergasted at the price for a basic service (plugs, oil and filters). It cost me £162.......What really takes the biscuit is the 'bolt on' extra warranty they try to sell you. I was offered paint and body warranty whilst handing my keys over to the service receptionist for an extra £9.99.....When I questioned this as my car is only 12 months old, she replied 'we have to try and sell it you!' , then a further sell was the extra brake fluid change, yep £59.99 - You have got to be having a laugh.....RIP OFF BRITAIN STRIKES AGAIN!
Now, this was the cheapest I could find, I did ring around a little and managed to get it for the above price, but one Ford dealer wanated £240:mad: !!!
So, if possible, could we have a Forum dedicated to 'Cheapest Service Dealers', and break it down into sub categories - ie By region, North West, North East, South West etc...you get the idea, and then a further break down into car manufacturer ie Ford, VW, Audi, Toyota etc......
Hopefully people will be able to make measured decisions on price and distance, and NOT GET RIPPED OFF!

I can recommend a Ford specialist dealer that I have been using based in Altrincham. He charged me £125 for a full service. Very friendly bloke.
If your interested just send us a pm and I will give you his details."He's a maniac, maniac that's for sure,
He will kill your cat and nail him to the door"

This could start a row between independent versus stealers argument!
First service - question - spark plugs???? Surely not....... If it was a KA or Fiesta, then get them out and lubricate - they have a tendency to corrode in - causing alot of hassle later. But not need changing yet!
Are we supposed to then recommend Stealers or Independents around the country? Isn't this advertising? Not sure of the rules of this on MSE.Genie
