Number of GCSE's means nothing. I was, like 90% of the students in my year, entered for 10.5 GCSE's.stevew8975 wrote: »It reminds me of when the A* grade came in with GCSE's - Regardless of what the PR merchants are claiming, the GCSE's these days are a doddle, compared to O-Levels, so as more and more people were getting higher grades, there was nothing at the top to distinguish the outstanding from the mediocre.
Going off topic, the amount of school leavers I have interviewed for office jobs over the last few years that have 8, 9, 10 or even more GCSE's, but have not got an ounce of sense or reason in them. I was proud when I cleared my 10 GCSE's back in (insert a year that does make me sound that old..) but now I know they have been significantly devalued. Having seen a GCSE paper from last years syllabus, the whole thing is nothing more than a box ticking exercise.
Just like feedback...!

After a quick Google it seems either a lot of buyers aren't sure what the Star ratings actually mean, or that eBay are knocking sellers down a peg or two.
Would it be rude to explain the stars to buyers, and how giving a 4 versus a 5 is actually a VERY big difference for a seller?
Stars are said to be there by some to encourage sellers to offer free postage thus making more money for ebay?"Love you Dave Brooker! x"

I still only have 4.8s, so have no idea what you have to do to get a 5

Free/Inclusive Postage still does not earn sellers 5* !! eBay make more in fees from these sellers as well, so it would be nice to see an automatic 5 applied for these.
I've yet to see any seller with straight 5's though.<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -
Looks like they are also rewarding those people who have switched their account to a business one.
The annoying thing is that whilst one of my accounts received the 'please register your account as business or personal' email my main selling has not..and if I try to mark it as a business account it won't let me.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. It would be interesting to see how many of the PSs have 4.6+ across all 4 items, unless of course they are able to have bad scores removed.
I see easily as many PSs with 4.6 across all stars as I see non PS.
We mustn't forget that PS have always had a target of feedback to reach so are used to having to put a bit of effort in, if they fell below 98% overall they have always lost their PS status.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Ok, so I list a card for 99p, the listing fee is 10p, gallery is 15p, Paypal fees are 24p, the first class stamp is 34p (going up in April), cost of the envelope, 3 mile trip to the post office.
Free postage, I don't think so I'll give up Ebay firstYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever

Yay. I had 4.9 DSR's, which fell to 4.8 (which was probably fair) - just had an eBayer leave me a 4 (or lower) for P&P charges.
I sold a DVD - it cost me £1.20 to post (although I thought it would be more), I then bought a Jiffy Bag for it, and some bubble wrap - I then have to pay for someone elses time/petrol to go a mile down the road to the post office - £1.49 for all that is imo quite fair!
I would type a little essay up on DSR's, but the only English Qualification I have is a B in GCSE English, so i'd rather someone more Eloquent tried! :PNothing I say represents any past, present or future employer.0 -

If you check through the threads, you will find one that says the USA website is giving vouchers to buyers who leave low star ratings to encourage them to buy again.
The general opinion is that it just rewards the idiots out there for leaving bad ratings, so if that comes over to the UK, we can all expect our ratings to drop :mad:You're only young once, but you can be immature forever
