It definitely does work, and combined with replacing / upgrading the stock cooling on the chipsets, can be a long-term solution.
A friend of mine has been buying "broken" and out of warranty 360's, fixing them up just like this, and selling them back cheaply, for a healthy profit. Easy for anyone with a PC-modding background.Russia is HERE0
