Not sure why the BBC got involved with BritBox rather than focusing its attention on iPlayer, which whilst I'm no fan of the BBC, the iPlayer system is robust and works. Sure they could put their back catalogue in here rather than make people pay again for it on UK Gold and BritBox ?

A purely commercial decision; they are making money to supplement the license fee.  In the same way they have been selling programmes to Netflix.

I think the BBC should raise all of its money commercially, and should scrap the license fee.

Whatever the BBC says in public e.g. about the TV Licence, it's clear that it considers its commercial activities to be very important, and you barely have to turn your back for a moment and it's suddenly supporting the TV ecosystem in Australia and New Zealand.

The BBC is always going to be "strapped for cash", because the minute it declares a surplus, the cry will go up that the licence fee is too high.
What really gets my goat is that they think giving GL £1.75 million a year for 36 nights is justified.
Along with his sidekick Shearer who gets half a million.
If they gave the job to an unknown who had good knowledge of football for £50k a year, I doubt if the viewing figures would fall.
GL says he could get a lot more from the likes of Sky tv, well let him.

So we've had another letter come in from TV Licensing today, again addressed to "legal occupier" however this time it's titled "Your IN01O0A2" which comes back on Google with nothing. Any ideals?

I would imagine it's the reference on an internal form - much like the 'sorry we missed you' card left by Royal Mail is a P739

I'd put serious money on it being a MacGuffin.

McGuffin - you live and learn.
Edited to add: Having seen the submitted scan I note the phrase "... illegal TV viewing ..." This is the UK in the 21st century, and there can be "illegal TV viewing". It's beyond laughable.

BBC/TVL like these fake devices in their letters - they have those pretend rubber stamps and fake signatures, too.

Sadly, yes, in their hundreds of thousands and even millions.
