Easyjet Speedy Boarding - Worth It?
Comments
-
my personal experience - from the past 2 years, we went to rome and murcia in spain via easyjet,
we didnt pay for speedy booking and gald we didnt, whilst leaving england worked out ok for those that did, on returning, the overseas airports, dont really give a monkeys...... so it ended up as a free for all....... why they cant issue numbers on arrival/book in - not seat numbers, but at least then you cant push in if you are late...smile --- it makes people wonder what you are up to....

For anyone who flies regularly with easyJet and uses Speedy Boarding, I have just posted THIS thread regarding a new service they've just launched. This space has been intentionally left blank0

i recognise everything you mention hammy, my pet hate is older travellers who seem to walk to the front of the boarding queue and get confused about the boarding system and then wont move when its explained to them
another small wind up is families who get on last loaded with starbucks bags of goodies and then go straight to the cabin crew and asked to be sat together, you know whats coming up long before the question gets asked
but your original point hammy about me being selfish because i should think of others before my own comfort is not in the same league as other anti social bad manners which you have explained
i will look after my own comfort before thinking about couples who board last and want to sit togehter0 -
about couples who board last and want to sit togehter
Why do couples HAVE to sit together.
I can understand why you might want small children not sitting on their own, but grown ups??
Or have I been married too long
I can't see the big deal for grown ups to sit apart for an hour or two.
I'd probably rather out of preference as we tend to share drinks etc. but it's hardly the end of the world for an hour or two.0 -
I have just read this thread with interest as we just used Ryanair's speedy boarding and have 2 young children. I think it was excellent as we could settle ourselves together in seats without the massives without stressing about not being called with children. I am not even sure if Ryanair do this anyway anymore.
Was surprised how good Ryanair were as well. Not sure about a long flight but couldn't fault them for an hr.0 -
If you have ever been from Barcelona to Liverpool - Forget Speedy Boarding - as they load you onto a bus - so speedy boarders go first - then they fill the buss up with everyone else - who all get off the bus and onto the aircraft BEFORE the speedy boarders!0

Adding the hammy the hammers list, can I add the following?
- People who think "young children" include 15 year olds.
- Once on, people who *must* recline their seat regardless, prompting a wave of seat reclination down the aircraft. Usually they give no warning as they slam it back into the knees of the passenger behind.
Roll on when mobile phones can be used - then the real fun will begin.
One tip - if flying with young children, give them a prod as everyone gets on to get them screaming - that way no-one will want to sit anywhere near you! Or sit down next to lovey-dovey couple, get the baby screaming and watch them move (only joking!).0 -
We have always checked in early so to get in the early boarding slot, with kids were also brought forward. But now the kids are older youngest being 13 this will have changed. My tips if a bus don't sit down, we used to have one of us on one side and and another on the other side so which ever door opened first one of us would be there. My biggest fear would be that I could not sit next to my children but luckily that has never been a problem.
I now suffer arthritis and walk with a stick and wonder if I would get priority boarding so if I just get left to hobble along and get left behind in the rush. We flew Flybe last year and they book seats, we got to the airport early so to make sure we sat together.
I think anyone travelling with friends and family should be able to sit together, especially famlies. Low cost airlines are great but I hate the boarding srum.0 -
i just came back from amsterdam and had speedy boarding which helped at the airport as they has a speedyboard check in que which was much quicker. Also we did get on the plane first and got to choose the seats we wanted so we managed to get the seats with extra leg room. I would definately get speedyboard again
Would hardly be worth for a 60 minute flight surely :rotfl:"Man invented language to satisfy his deep need to complain."

if you must know, i suffer from sever fear of flying and as i was travelling with my university group i had no choice but to fly. Having the extra choice and the less stress helped me, therefore I would travel with speedy board again.0
