Easyjet Speedy Boarding - Worth It?

I am travelling with my partner and 18 month old daughter in May with Easyjet. I noticed their new Speedy Boarding which would cost me an extra £22 - is it worth paying for this to get on the flight first?

Apparently the speedy boarders get called first and then I am PRESUMING folk with babies will go next so it may not be worth it for me.

Can anyone advise?

Which airport are you going from?

    My local is Bristol.
Whilst you may get called first they still take a bus full on one bus, so there is no guarantee of getting on the plane first even if you are on the bus first. In fact if you are carrying a baby you are likely to get overtaken by many people who aren't carrying babies.

So I would say it depends on the local arrangements.

My own feeling is that almost all the seats are identical so I can't see the benefit. Even if you get speedy boarding there is no gurantee you will get any of the (few) good seats especially if your ability to run is hampered.

its only worth it when its free, otherwise I wouldnt both. Take Ryanair, you get it free if you book and check in online, otherwise why pay so much? If its leg room you want, go for exit seats as most people miss them!

    thats my 2 pennies worth

No - definitely not worth it. So few people use Speedy Boarding now that there are loads of seats left anyway. (Mainly business types I think who aren't paying for it themselves) Babies and special assistance are then next.
Easyjet also now give priority to web check in customers.

And as Lisyloo says, if you are bussed to the plane it's survival of the fittest.

i just came back from amsterdam and had speedy boarding which helped at the airport as they has a speedyboard check in que which was much quicker. Also we did get on the plane first and got to choose the seats we wanted so we managed to get the seats with extra leg room. I would definately get speedyboard again

Thanks for replies - I'm going from Glasgow to Bristol and from reading Lisyloo's comment it will not be worth it. Will book in online and ensure we have our speedy trainers on for the Bristol to Glasgow route.

If you have a tot you cannot sit at the emergency exits anyway - over the wings or next to the doors, which is where most people want to sit because of the extra legroom. I think I'm right in saying this ???????? So probably really not worth paying for the Speedy Boarding.

i always fly without speedy boarding and almost always able to get the seat i want - emergency exit over the wing. even if im good half way down the main queue too - lots of people seem to fill up the aircraft from the front if they boarded from the first door or from the back if they boarded from the rear! and i often end up having all 3 seats to myself whilst seats at the front and the back are cramped with strangers sitting next to each other including middle seats! :S mmmm. do i really scare people away?!

anyway that wont apply to you OP as you're not allowed to sit in the emergency exit rows with a child - so not sure why i bothered. but to answer your question, not worth it. you'll get priority boarding after a few people who paid out for speeding boarding gets onto the plane, so you'll have plenty of seats to choose from (and the ones you can sit at are all the same!) And as already mentioned, theres every possibility of being bussed to the aircraft.
  • a positive is being able to select seats as far away as possible from the stag/hen do's

For a family maybe ,bearing in mind that children cannot occupy exit seats.

As a single traveler on a short flight I:m not really bother me where I sit but I have beaten the " Early Boarders " to the legroom seats and been told " they are ours * !

My reply, do you have a booking confirmation with seat numbers ? Erhh no !

    TOUGH !
