Splitting Property Boards?

Just wanted to bump this as I think Richard's suggestion is a good one.0

Posts such as these could be on more than one Board ...... where would that leave us?
The former a tiny proportion of threads, much less than 1% I would imagine.
Either could easily be cross posted without a big increase in total traffic (which I appreciate has to be paid for).0 -

Can we please?0 -
I also think (for what its worth) it would be a good idea to split the boards as per Richards suggestion.0

Pretty please?
I would save reading posts after posta to find out the advice was for the "wrong" country.
And splitting property buying/selling from the LL & T/rentals would also mean that someone who's having a grim time with their LL doesn't have to wade through tedious posts about house price crashes
Have PMd one of the Board Guides but not yet had a response.0 -
Hi guys
First, just a quick reminder please, not to assume the team has seen a thread you've posted, it's such a huge forum now you have to assume we haven't rather than have! (This is the first I've heard about this thread and that's only because a board guide forwarded tbs624's PM on to me).
A House Prices sub-board is something that's been discussed but not fully decided as Martin's been rather busy lately (if you watch five, 7.30pm on Wednesdays you'll obviously know why). If he decides to do it you'll obviously know because it'll appear! :T
Take care

Please look at the first post in this thread. I wasn't asking for a house prices sub-board particularly, but that might be relevant.
I felt that:
1. renting/letting should be separated from buying/selling and then
2. buying/selling should be split so that there are separate boards for:
a) England/Wales
b) Scotland,
c) Northern Ireland
d) Eire
because there is a danger of a poster asking a question and the answers could be wrong depending where the property in question is. There have been several threads I have followed through where a question is asked and then further down the original poster uses an expression only found in one jurisdiction like "missives" then I twig its Scots and leave alone.
Not everyone realises the legal systems are different, and so there can be confusion for those reading the posts and for those posting. Because of the larger size of the English population, it is all too easy to assume everything is English.RICHARD WEBSTER
As a retired conveyancing solicitor I believe the information given in the post to be useful assuming any properties concerned are in England/Wales but I accept no liability for it.0 -
Richard - think maybe the best thing is that we contact MSE Andrea via PM as she says they don't have enough time to check the Boards on a regular basis?0

Hi again
I mentioned the House Prices board because that's what's been mentioned before but I did read the first post and realise that's not what you were originally asking.
That sounds like a lot of sub-boards and to be honest we're unlikely to add that many boards (plus the fact that we don't cover Eire) but when we get round to talking about the House Prices board we'll discuss that too.
In the meantime, though, how about having individual threads specifically for those subjects? Perhaps one of you could start them off on each of the individual England, Ireland, Scotland and Northern Ireland MoneySaving boards that we already have, then link to those from here so people that tend to read either board will see them?
Just an idea.
