"Is there anything else you would like me to do?!!!!" (stupid questions)

Options
Now i try to be as helpful as i can in my listings, mainly clothes and shoes and willing to answer any questions....but...some people just take the mick.... I often wonder if they are having a giggle just to see how far a seller will go in a bid for a getting a better price......
However they are sometimes quite funny.....here are a few recent examples:

Mens STRETCH knit top.....I have given chest, length etc measurements
Q...What is the width of the sleeve,?......

Mens adidas trainers size 10...
Q......What is the length and width of the footbed in mm's measuring from the inside of the shoe........

Ladies top.... prices listed to all destinations
Q.....Can you convert that into dollars and tell me how much shipping is to USA...........:p Can I fork!!!!!!

Brand new with tags and in sealed packaging......
Q. Is this new......:rotfl:

Boys black casual shoes.....
Q....do you think my sons school will allow him to wear these?........:D

The list goes on.... Spill the beans on some of your classic questions....give us a giggle;) ;)
Never put off until tomorrow what you can avoid doing altogether.:D

On the other hand :D, there are times when I've thanked my lucky stars that I've asked the seller a question.

The description said: 'Handknitted, 100% wool' but the photo made me ask what the garment was made of. Answer: Acrylic and nylon!

    Or

'Beautiful real sheepskin jacket'. After I put the question, the seller told me that it was made of .... you guessed it..... acrylic.

The best one was where I asked the question: 'Is it real leather?' and got the answer 'Yes, that's what I said. 100% leather and as soft as butter.' I bought it, opened the parcel, read the label and it was plastic!

    You have to laugh. :rotfl:

OOOH I'd be fuming with that one.

I did buy a "new without tags top"....it arrived yesterday and it clearly was not new:mad: ...I emailed and said I wasn't going to argue over a couple of quid but it is really unfair to put it in that catergory....Well at least she replied with, I'm sorry I totally didn't realise I had listed it as that:cool: I will give you a refund of the top and half the postage is that ok... I have agreed but I'm still waiting for refund.
Also received another top yesterday described as in excellent condition!!!....I wrote to her and said..."if you call deodorant stains, loose stitching and bobbling as excellent conditon, we will have to agree to disagree.....

I'm waiting for responses before leaving neutral feedback, although I'm considering a neg for the second one

  • I will never forget one question I had.

One item I had listed was a pair of New Leather Trousers (geniune leather by the way! ;) ).

I had a guy get in contact asking for photos of the trousers being worn by myself so he could check they would fit his girlffriend! :rotfl:

I replied that they were actually to large for me and I wouldn't be wearing them for photos. Offered to give extra measurements but he never got back to me ...

    I love reading these threads...

I had listed a skirt with length (approx 19" if I remember) - and the question was "will this come to my knee?". Depends on how tall you are lovey!!

I listed a child's pair of size 9 Clarks shoes - "Will these fit my 9 year old?"!!!! Declined to answer the stupidity of that one!!

I listed a settee and chair - collection only - bloke from Tiawan "won" it and asked for postage costs!!

    I've been Money Tipped!
Sold an item last week advertised as BNIB on title.

Main advert headed item brand new, still sealed in it's box.

Had 2 to sell, so did a second chance offer to next highest bidder, explaining I had 2 of the item, so if they were still wanting to buy, I was happy to sell them the 2nd identical item.

She emailed asking if the one I was offering her was identical. I replied, telling her again that the other item was brand new, still sealed, identical item.

I had another reply "thanks for your reply, but is it new and still sealed?"

Didn't really know what to reply to that, so just sent an email saying: yes.
Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?
  • I listed some clothes - full details, lengths of jackets, waistbands on skirts, etc.

A raincoat was listed at 34" - the question from a Buyer was "is this full length". Yes if you are 4'2""!!!
  • I've has a couple of really creepy questions from a potential buyer. Both times [they changed their name] they have asked to see the Speedo Fastskin Bodysuit I was selling, being worn by a female. Have asked for different poses, ie front on with arms raised, etc.
The Suit is made for competive swimmers [like you see on the TV] so is extremly tight. They said they were very intrested in buying it; however, when I directed them to a Speedo site to view it, I heard no more. Reported to Ebay. Anyone who wanted 1 of these wouldn't be asking for pics as it is a specialist product so they would know what it looked like.
It has freaked me out & i won't now list any of this type of swimsuit.
    Anyone else has this problem?????
2011, this will be my year .
