If i remember rightly, you buy a top up voucher and then dial the top-up line.
It should know that you have a Spanish sim and then give you the option of converting you top-up into Euro's.Dial 2345 and see what options that it offers you.You have got the phone roaming on Vodafone UK haven't you???

I'm sure that my German can be topped up here - the manual says so (though I haven't), and UK ones can be topped up abroad with local vouchers, so I expect that Spanish ones can be too.

I searched the Vodafone UK site "TopUp abroad" and followed links to find UK instructions; can't give the link as they use session cookies. NB don't use 2345 - see my remarks below
You should TopUp your mobile before you go but if you do run out of credit while you are overseas, don’t worry you can still top up using any of the below methods:

UK Vouchers: If you have packed UK top-up vouchers you can simply dial 2345 as you do in the UK free of charge and select option 1.

Using a registered Credit or Debit card: If you register your details before you leave you will be able to top up by credit or debit card. Dial 2345 free of charge and select option 2.

Overseas Vouchers: You can purchase local top up vouchers from any of the below networks. When purchased simply dial 2345 as you do in the UK and select option 6.

Also in the countries listed below you can buy TopUp cards on the following networks:
The German instructions use the number 22922, so I reckon you may have to call the Spanish short-code number to do it, as given in your instructions and probably saved on the SIM card phonebook, and with any luck the call will be free.

Edit - I took so long on this that it is a cross-post. Maybe you can also try 2345 as georgedawes suggests

Tried 2345, waited on the line for ages before line went dead. Then got a text message saying "Bien".

Called the vodaphone from my uk mobile and two operators said they could not do it for me. I got one to phone their Spain counterparts but no-one could speak English. I asked to be put through to corporate HQ who could deal with international issues. The last girl said that she was corporate but couldn't help any more.

    Not Bien

I just called 2345 with my German Vodafone - it cut off.

Then I called 22922, followed the options. There is a different number to press for using CallYa top-up than a Vodafone UK one - 2 and 4 I think. The call was free.

I'm sure you need to call the Spanish SIM account handling number; it will be in the manual and on the SIM. If your spoken menu is still in Spanish study the manual to change it to English.
