Another little reminder for me, start doing surveys for dooyoo. x0
-
Right, today has been a good day. I spent £15 on lunch with friends, and spent £12.87 in Boots on my hair products and some tanning wipes. I used my advantage card so made 48points, and my friend used my card too because she didn't have one, so made another 168 points, total 216, which is £2.16 - yay!!! I'm very impressed i kept my spends below the £30 i had set myself. I was very tempted at one point to buy this lovely jacket i saw in H&M, but i resisted :j
Just started reviewing on dooyoo, and i'm hoping to make £10 or £20 a month in Amazon vouchers, these will be used for Christmas presents.0 -
Yay today my Quidco money went in :j so i have just worked out the numbers again and i am on track, I've got exactly what i should have left after the things left to be paid this month have been paid, and after my shopping trip yesterday, i'm actually got an extra £2.13 left as i didn't quite spend £30 yesterday
Everyday i'm going to make sure i'm on track, and not going over the budget i have set.
I'm not really making progess on getting the debt total down, i'm more just making sure i don't add to the debt, and have £100+ left at the end of the month to get my new Ugg boots.
I should be able to knock £250 off my debt total at the end of the month, so its going to be doing down, very slow.
Off to write my next two reviews.....:rolleyes:0 -
Hi hayley, just some observations. I don't mean to be harsh but I am worried about you, so
1) did you realise that if you had had no foreign holidays the back half of the year, you would be debt free now? And the spending money that you have allocated for these holidays would have put you well on course for your half of a deposit.
2) You are pleased that you didn't spend over £30 but did you NEED any of the things you bought or did you just WANT them to make you feel better? Boots bargains are all very well if you use the products, but not if you end up with a stock pile the size of Everest which means some of the make up say goes out of date before you can use it. What about having a challenge to not buy anymore products until you have used up all you have? The money you save goes off the debts.
3) I applaud your determination to join the police force, so next time you are bored being in on your own go for a run. I failed the fitness test and was absolutely gutted at the time, as I passed the other two tests with flying colours. Far better for you to be getting fit, then buying all these dvd's and it is free.
4) Why would you want to move to San Francisco or San Diego 'as they are not touristy' you ARE joking aren't you. SF is VERY touristy, with all the associated problems. Hell the last time I was there there were army vets begging on the streets in SF. San Diego is also the main jump of base for people visiting Mexico, so this is very touristy too. It also has one of the biggest naval bases in the world there, so get used to your hubby breaking up alot of navy v locals fights. America is a VERY expensive place to live in compared to here in some ways. For example could you afford the equivalent of £300 a month EACH for medical insurance?
Sorry if this is a bit harsh but you come across as being very naive as to how much renting a place is going to cost you BOTH. Are you ready for not having 4 holidays a year, or if you do only having them in England? I would guess that your share of the rent would be say £300, then £75 for council tax, about the same for gas and electricity and then about £40 for water. So nearly £500 a month not including food, tv licence broadband, mobile, land line, contents insurance. You really need to understand just how much the way you think about money has to change when you move out on your own. Otherwise you will only be able to fund it by getting into more debt.
Just have a think about what it will be like.

Thanks for your post Chev. I did just write a big reply, but it vanished when i went to post it.
I found some bits a little bit harsh because you don't get a full idea of things from reading my diary, but thanks anyway for the comments :rolleyes:0 -
Yesterday i managed my first NSD of the month so far :j i just hope its one of many more to come!!! I need another 7 to succeed at the challenge.
Its also the start of my £10 a week spending today, so far this week spent:
£2.60 - Tesco - some sweeties, magazine, Diet coke
I want to win the lotto. I'm just watching The Hills and i really envy all the girls on that show. Always look fab, have great clothes, arrgghhh i want that life. Never mind, my life isn't so bad, i just wish i had all the lovely clothes they had, and i wouldn't mind a flashy car like they have.
So far i am upto 5,810 on dooyoo, and i only started late Saturday night, and didn't do alot on Sunday. I need to do one more review today for an extra 500 points. I am to do 2 reviews a day, and then just read lots of other members reviews, that seems to help bump up my total.
I must also look at matched betting, but that will probably wait until the weekend. Don't want to rush it and mess up.

I had a bit of a weakness the other day and spent £20 in boots on make-up, i wanted to make most of the 342 offer so bought all i needed so it lasts me the rest of the year. I'm trying to spend less the rest of the week to make up for it, but its very very hard lol.
So far i'm upto 15,765 on dooyoo (just over £15 in Amazon vouchers), which is quite good as i only started Saturday night. I'm trying to make at least £30 a month in vouchers, so they will come in handy come christmas time. Thats if i can carry on making £30 a month, reviewing is getting to me alittle bit. I enjoy reading other peoples reviews, but writing my own is a different matter.
Still not looked at matched betting, its another thing to do on my list!!! I will get there, i will, actually, I MUST!!!!0 -
Thats a good dooyoo total, i am aiming to start this weekend so can get as many xmas pressies as possible for freeNow a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0

If you think some of what I said was harsh then I apologize, but I felt that a reality check was needed.

chevwhy do i need a reality check??? its not like i'm going crazy and putting everything i buy on a credit card, i've not touched my credit card in ages, i'm not left with no money at the end of the month and struggling, so why did i need a reality check?
I really wouldn't mind but my folks have wiped off my debt to them as a early christmas present, so my debt is just over 1K which will be paid in a couple of months.
I shop around before i buy things, i don't as you said buy dvds and waste money, i rent them out because i never watch a dvd more than once and i always look for offers before renting.
And, i don't know where you got renting a place from? we are looking to buy, if not we will continue to live with my parents until we have enough saved up.
Thanks for your comments again, but i don't think i'm in need of a reality check, just paying off my debts and having some nice holidays which are ALL fully paid for, before settling down. Btw, i enjoy holidays in england, we went on a camping trip in August, it was great!!!!!0
