The new shape Ford Fiesta. I'd love that car, but the sporty ST version in black with white stripes. Looked on Autotrader and it would set me back £11,000. So not worth it for a Ford. I'd rather get a Honda Civic Type R for that, the old style though.

I best get back into the real world though, as look at cars that would be suitable for a new driver. VW Lupo i'm thinking...!

Lol! You sound just like me when it comes to cars! I wouldnt buy a fiesta ST though as im a Ford hater (although i love the new shape focus ST). Yes on the type r though. Best hot hatch made. Anyway dont get me started on cars i will go on 4eva!:D

Lupo sounds good as a 1st car though. Mine was a clapped out nova!!! 5 years ago though it cost me and £1000!

I could go on about cars 4eva too. My OH had a Type R, Nighthawk Black, was a beast, but sold it when bought his first place. Once i can drive i think we're going to get something together, another Type R would be nice.

Ford Focus ST looks good, for some reason i like the orange colour, never really been a fan of orange but it just looks wicked.

I don't really use my facebook page, but pop on every now and again so will PM you my details Maria :D

Well, i had my lessons today and my driving was AWFUL. I couldn't do a bay park, reverse around corner, kept forgetting to check my mirrors. I was so upset when i got in because my instructor said if i drive like that on the day i will be sent back within 10 minutes. I now have to pick myself back up and work out how to make everyhthing perfect in the 7hrs i have left before my test on Thursday.

I have joined a driving forum, and have taken some tips down, so going to put them into practice tomorrow, and see how it goes.

I was looking forward to working out my new SOA excluding driving lesson fees, but it now looks like i may have to work out how i'm going to find £150 a month to include them again. I've so far spent nearly 3K in one year on lessons, i just feel like giving up, but i know thats not the way, especially when i can do it, but i let my nerves get the better of me.

Going to look at 'The Plan' now and work out if i can still pay what i've put down, and use the £150 out of money i'd put aside for 'treats' every month. Bit depressing i have to use my treat money, but no other way. I need to pass SOON!!!

If you do pass (which i really hope you do!) that £150 would probably go on petrol, insurance etc anyway?

Don't be like me and quit after spending thousands like you, i am now too scared to start again! :o

    Thanks Lilmiss.

I pay £100 travel a month for train/bus, so i'm hoping that will cover the amount i will need for petrol and insurance. I work about 10 miles away, so hopefully won't be more than £50 a month on petrol.

I had 3hrs this morning driving, i can happily say i did A LOT better. I managed a reverse around corner, bay park, parallel park, made her make me do each one a few times to check it wasn't just luck the first time. I did it spot on each time. I took alot of tips from the driving forum yesterday, those guys over there are great. I have another 2hrs this afternoon, so i'm hoping im in the same place i was this morning and don't make any silly mistakes.

I asked her before my lesson ended if she thinks i'll post, and she wasn't very positive, so thats got me down a little. I guess I'll have to show her lol.

Just had a little re-think about my 'The Plan' post and what i should do IF i fail my driving test tomorrow. When i worked out the plan i worked it out excluding driving costs, but since yesterdays disaster i think i should work it out again including some driving costs.

If i put £470 a month towards my debt, come end of November i should only have £350 left to pay, which could be paid in December, making me debt free by December 08, as my thread is titled :j

    SOA including driving fees

    Hayley's SOA

Total income per month = £920.00

    £100 - Rent
    £80 - Travel
    £84 - driving lessons - 4h's per month @ £21 per hour
    £4.34 - Dogs Trust
    £5.69 - Life Assurance
    £250 - Littlewoods -
    £50 - Barclaycard -
    £170 - parents

= £744.03 leaves £175.97 pressie fund, treats, social life

Once the Littlewoods amount is paid in full at the end of August i will use the £250 spare each month to pay towards either Barclaycard or parents.
