eon electic & gas bill problem

  • I would just like to add that anyone thinking of transfering to EON to give it a miss and avoid it.
We had a salesman knock on the door and told us about all the savings we could make, if you swapped our electitcity to them, we were happy to transfer the electic only to them as wanted to keep our gas supplier.
Well to cut a very long story short EON took both our Gas and Electric without our consent after many phone calls which I add they say they have no record of which is rubbish as all calls are meant to be recorded (yeah right only when it suits them) I have managed to change my supply back to British Gas and also transfered my Electric to British Gas but it has taken months and lots of phone calls and letters to EON before anything was done.
EON stated that they had no notice of British gas asking to transfer but when talking to British Gas they have sent 2 transfers to EON with no reply.

EON are a bunch of lying idiots and did not even say sorry for the problem of being mis sold.
I hope this helps others to think before transfering anything to EON.

    Rant over .

    Hi druid01

It sounds like you’ve had a terrible time with us and I’m so sorry if I’m the first E.ON representative that has acknowledged this.

Thank you for sharing your experience, we send a regular report back to our senior managers and I will ensure that lessons are learned from what happened to you.

It does sound like that you’ve finally got things sorted, but if there’s anything I can help you with please let me know.

There are still quite a few 4-dials out there! Ok so maybe 1548kwh then, if meter is metric.

If it's an E10 then she wouldn't be able to go onto the online tariff. Online tariff is only for E7 and standard. Unless it was a 2 rate E10 meter but being billed on an E7 tariff, but then again how would you explain the third meter reading?[/quote]

In post #4 the OP indicates she is only charged at a single rate for electricity(plus a daily standing charge)

I suspect the property was on E10 - possibly before gas was connected?? - and now is on a standard on-line tariff - they simply add the consumption from the 3 meters together. (I have a similar arrangement for my old E7 meters)

Its an e7 with a totaliser register since day and night add to the other register. Sometimes suppliers make mistakes with these and bill all 3 or cause transpositions by using the totaliser readings with some of the bills.

I did manage to get my bills printed off, eon has my final reading 06/01 as 66028 + 36434.
but my final reading with npower on 15/03 was
    57619 + 36274.

Looks like they just make up any old figure they want, could understand if it was one figure out

Really annoyed that i cant get hold of them till tues, i`m sure computers send out errors on bank holidays on purpose....

Eon have overcharged, most likely due to a Deemed read or just an input error of some kind. Contact then, tell them the reading npower have and if the see that is accurate, they should amend your bill.

Remember, right now you are paying 2 utilities for the same energy. Now this can't happen to them as the final & openiniv must match in the industry settlement data so someone could have used an internal reading in error causing this.

If the reading npower have is lower than their previous bills to you, they should dispute it but may have just close you with a reading higher than your last bill to get it done...this is a failure to address the issue.

Its obvious since you mentioned your refing 2 days as go that this is wrong and needs amending somewgere. Where did npower get this opening reading from, you?

  • Yes it will be an E7 meter, you want to give them last two readings only, not the total.Looks like the second read will be day and the third night but double check by seeing which read moves at night. In older properties the meters could have gone "round the clock" and started again so you cannot always just add the two together for the total, but in this case it looks like you can
