    Hi
I don't think that having diamonds in your wedding ring is new mine has and we celebrated 20 years in january - mind I haven't worn my ring for ages following my weight gain! I keep meaning to get it made bigger, but that would be accepting the weight gain.

My wedding ring has 10 diamonds in it at 0.10 point of a carat each.

dont look at the amounts of diamond its best to look at quality. I could have 0.75 or 0.50 of a carat diamond in my engagement ring and I chose the smaller stone because it was a better quality stone and lots more sparkly even though you could tell it was smaller.

I agree with the Jewellry Quarter and antique shops

Not disagreeing, but I would like to know how you decided that?

The details of each ring specify the diamond size (added together), the Samuel's one is .05 more. I think the Ernest one only has 10 diamonds, the Samuel's one has 11. I agree with most people here in that you'd be better off going for second hand or an independent jeweller. Those made by Samuel & Ernest Jones are mass produced and "ten-a-penny" (no disrespect to those that have them!).

I decided I wanted a wedding ring that was an eternity ring with jewels in - it's for eternity - where as marriage isn't always forever! (Second time round for me!).

You may find you loose weight when your little one starts walking/running!

My wedding ring is beautiful. When OH and I married we didnt have any money, we had just bought our home and decided that rather than spend a small fortune on rings we would go down the second hand route.

We went to a local jewellers and I chose a very old, gold band with flowers engraved in them, OH chose a plain band. I think we paid £50 or so for the pair.

Its not about the ring and the expense of it, it is about the commitment and I would have been happy with a brass curtain ring on my finger.

OP, have you considered that a jeweller can often make a ring bigger?

H samuel and Ernest Jones are part of the same group, so as far as quality goes, they are probably very similar.
Not having seen them and i can't comment too much, but they would probably be rhodium plated to make them very white coloured. It is in effect yellow gold underneath.
Just go with what you feel is the best ring. Platinum would be a better option for wear and tear, but you know your budget and you have to be happy with the ring you are going to wear.
Another suggestion is go to a more independent jewellers or buy a plain ring and then have some diamonds set into it.

Although I know they're the same group... I much prefer Ernest Jones's jewellery, and customer service! (Had a shocking experience at H Samuel a few years back)

    Hey There-

I work for Ernest Jones and H Samuels are part of the Signet Group that make up Ernest Jones, Samuels and Leslie Davis ..
Occassionally we have customers like yourselves that wonder why the 'Same' ring is cheaper in Samuels than EJ - The ring that you have seen in EJ will have a better quality of diamond, the 2 shops even though part of the same company do not stock the same items only EJ and LD do..
9 ct White Gold is actually made up in terms of metal - 45 percent copper! So although this makes it harder wearing is only made up of about 37 percent gold - because White Gold is not a Pure metal - like platinum - it is actually yellow gold that is mixed with silver and palladium to give it a whiter appearance - then the ring is dipped or coated in whats called Rhodium Plating - this will not wear or chip off but will start - over a period of time - (this differs due to oils in peoples skin) to go a bronze colour - you can have it re-dipped - it needs to be sent away for about 2 weeks and costs about 15 pounds .
    Hope this helps x
