Any ring ring experts out there? Which of these wedding rings is better value?

Hello,
For various reasons it looks like I am going to have to replace my wedding ring (have only been married for 3 years so the £100 ring I had wasn't great value in the end!). I have seen a ring I like but then have seen another one that to me (being not the most girly and therefore no ring expert) looks exactly the same but the price is quite a bit different. Could anyone advise on what the differences are and therefore why one is more expensive so I can try and work out which one is better value for money?
This is the first one that is £150 in H Samuel but the manager of my local store says he would let me have it for £135.

This is the one that looks the same to me and it is £110.

On looking at them again the stones do look further apart on the second one but not sure if thats just the picture.
Thanks in advance for any help received.

Go with the one you like best.
Both these rings are probably worth the same which is very little.
People dont have a clue about what they are buying when it comes to this type of thing and its usually a once in a lifetime purchase and as a result they are taken advantage of.
If you were spending thousands it would be different but at that price go with your heart.0 -
I would go with the one that you like best unless there is any off high street jewellers you can trust.
Just make sure you have a good look at the diamonds in them to make sure they are not discoloured.
Wishing you good health to wear your new ring!0 -
Both are white gold which means it is normal yellow gold underneath with a white looking metal coating. This coating will wear off after time andf therefore needs recoating at some point.
They are both 9 carat diamonds, so if it was me I'd go for the Ernest Jones ring cos I would expect a nicer, and better value product than H Samuel.
Platinum is best but then its more expensive and this is a money saving site!Just owe Dad £2500 for a new car

Paid off car loan 22nd August 2009. :T0 -
I agree with Mizz Pink.
I would choose Ernest Jones over H Samuel every time, from my experience their quality is far superior.
Good luck with whichever you choose

I'd choose Ernest Jones over H Samuel for quality.
But then I'd choose a hula hoop on my finger over a ring, so what do I know!!??Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Just a thought but you could get a great looking and great value ring from a second hand jewellers.......The high street stores have jewellry of little value.0

Do you not have a local independant jewellers near you? They may offer a similar ring at a similar cost but better quality. We have the Jewellery Quarter nearby in Birmingham and this is where I bought my original ring from, it only cost £30 and when I replaced it they had to cut it off my finger (lardy!!!!) the lady at Goldsmiths remarked that it was fab quality and couldn't believe it only cost £30. Unlike the one I have now that cost £100 and looks just as yellow as a normal yellow gold one, like Mizz_Pink said, just white colour over yellow gold.
Best of luck but I would stay away from H Samuel.0 -
Sorry if I seem old fashioned but why are you replacing your wedding ring and why are you getting one with jewels on it? I'm not meaning to be rude but have things changed that much?0

The first one is 0.15 points of a carat.
The second one is only 0.10 of a carat.0 -
