i did thats why i took it in but they have overlooked the problem of the smell and just replaced the transponder and ive only just been told off the garage what they had on their system and paperwork they havent even recorded the fact i could smell petrol and the worry of the leak i didnt get a copy of the work that was done on the car coz they wouldnt give me anything,i trusted the garage at the time and thought they had looked at the leak but they havent and now that ive filled the car up to its limit ive seen how bad the leak was,ive not always had the money to fill it right up so ive never seen the leak but the smell has never gone away and i was told that you get that smell from 206's but only now ive realised how bad it has been!0

i dont mean that someone would light a fire in the petrol station i mean when i was driving home someone could of flicked a cigarete out as i intend to enjoy living too if youve not got anything to say to help dont bother replying i was only asking!!!!!!!!!!
I've given you the most obvious advice their is - to check for leaks yourself, and to enquire of the carbon canister. Its not hard, but since you seem to have problems punctuating your posts I'll assume you'll have similar problems following the extremely simple steps to finding the leak.
Instead of driving a car around for 4 years that stank of petrol, you should have stopped and asked yourself or friends if it was normal behaviour (it isn't), if you were happy with the garage's diagnosis (you're obviously not), and if you were aware that there are plenty of other garages who could find the fault (you aren't).
Stop trying to blame everybody else, either look for the leak yourself, ask a friend, or find another garage to fix it for you. Take responsibility for yourself and your possessions, like most adults do. Furthermore there are many specialist forums on the internet that will offer this same advice and better, so ask there too.
And don't even think about sueing the garage or moaning to them - its their responsibility to fix any problems you present to them, and which you pay them to do. If they don't, you should have immediately complained to them, and if you still weren't happy you should have gone elsewhere until the fault was fixed at which point you should then have acted upon the warranty you had.you cant overfill a tank thats why the pump cuts it off
The mechanisms for cutting fuel off are not infallible, and some click off well after the level of fuel in the pipe has passed the drain hole, particularly on petrol which doesn't foam as easily as diesel.0
