I am glad you had a better experience than the majority of people.
I have to say my experience was not only bad instore but also with head office.
The run up to any brides wedding is important and there is no second chance to get this right. They have let me down on several occasions during the last 12 months and I know my friends and family would never use them again. What makes it worse from reading these forums is that they are making the same mistakes over and over again. That is not the sign of a good company or one that has its customers interests at heart.0 -
Forgot to say, Good Luck for your big day chicken princess xx0

Hello Ladies
Thank you for your support and I agree with Chicken Princess that it should be the store rather than the brand that should be named and shamed since I am sure that there are some stores that know how to do their jobs properly! My experience was in Berketex Glasgow, one lady was lovely, the others were rude and ignorant and generally unpleasant from start to finish. Head office have reassured me that they have done nothing wrong since their staff are so fabulous they have been promoted. Really? Then how come they are still working in the store? So not only are head office in denial but they lie.
The battle with Berketex continues. Please share your experiences and let me know which stores they are. I have told Berketex that I am in touch with other brides and will retalliate with any evidence. Of course celebrating the good stores but naming and shaming the bad. There is no need to be treated in this way!
Congratulations though to all you lovely brides. Don't let the stress and any negative experiences take over your big day. It is your day to celebrate with the one you love.0 -

I have bought my dress from Berketex and it's the worst customer service experience in terms of after sales that I have ever experienced! I bought it back in Jan and it's just arrived in to store, I happend to be passing as I hadnt been informed that it had arrived! After some confusion if it was in or not they established that they did have it!!! The Manager brought it down and my mother, friend and myself were shocked!!! It was nothing like the colour if the dress I had tried on and loved!! The manager said 'all dresses are different in colour from what you try on and that I wouldn't have even noticed if the one I had originally tried on wasn't there to compare' Anyone could see how different they were, the one that has arrived for me is a dark ivory and the one I tried on was nearly white!! The manager then said the dress I had tried on had been dry cleaned approximately 10 times! She was so abrupt and treated me as though it was my problem as I had received a 'swatch' The swatch is a small but of material which is mostly covered in the decorative detail, impossible to tell! She was quite rude and dismissive. At the time if purchase the same manager had measured me saying I was a perfect size 12, and that it shouldn't require alterations, turns out the dress is completely the wrong size! Much too big on the bodice and tight on my hips, with numerous threads sticking out. The manager made me jump into it and when my mother informed her that it wasn't going on she said 'keep jjmping' which eventually led to it tearing at the seams! All in all very poor customer care and I'm very upset that this dress isn't what I thought I was ordering! I would advice not to go to the Berketex in Bristol. However the customer service given by Lisa in Debenhams Berketex Bristol is brilliant and I'm hoping to get the dress transferred to her to try and make it right for my big day in July!!!0

I went to Berktex Brides while looking for my dress. Customer service was appalling. I was asked what sort of dress I was looking for before being shown and forced to try on a dress that was completely opposite! They had no-one for my poor Mum who was being dragged (gladly I might add) round the shops. When I asked if she (my Mum) wanted to come and sit on the chair in the changing room I was told Mums were forbidden from the changing rooms!
Apparently Berktex (well I speak for the Newcastle branch) charge the alteration fee (£180!!!!) whether or not the dress needs altering!
Needless to say I bought my dress from somewhere else:)Turning our clutter to top up our house deposit: £3000/£303.05 we're on our way!0 -
I've heard so many bad things about Berketex. I used the Newcastle Berketex and bought my dress in the January sale, there was loads of staff about with it being the sale and one of the ladies (i think the Manager) dealt with me. She was fine, helped me into my dress offered her advice and offered me a discount on the sale dress, they also gave me enough beads to make the front less plain as i was unsure about it in the shop. She picked two dresses and asked my opinion, i then tried them both on and fell in love with the first one. The only experience i have after sales is when i rang to enquire what hoop i needed - originally used lots of words but on phone said it's a standard double hoop:DStolen the OH's account so it's Jenna - not Neil:D0

But surely if they'd started a new thread, people would have said "this has been discussed before" and linked here - even if the threads didn't end up merged?0 -
ive just seen this thread and ive been at Berketex today actually, the manchester one. The woman who dealt with me was very pleasant and made me feel at ease and helped me try on all differen styles, i do agree with thier prices though - not one i tried on was under 1000. And also i did get scratched with a pin - not so it bled but still marked me. There was a lady who came in whilst i was there and they had lost her dress - eventually they had found it and thats why she was there to try it on, unfortunately they had altered it and it was too short. It was ok in the end as she just changed her shoes but this put me off. i did end up finding my perfect dress but not from this shop.0
