  • went to boots oxford st the other day and asked elizabeth arden girl if she could advise on what sort of lip colour i should wear with a suit that i was wearing to a wedding, she showed me one of the tinted 8hr protection lip balm thingys, lovely colour and lips felt great so asked how much, was £16, also tried some of the 8hr repair cream they had (can be used on dry skin, chapped lips, even minor burns apparently) and that was good too, they had it in a set with the repair cream (full size 50ml) and a hand cream (smaller than normal at 30ml) and an intensive moisturizing body treatment (50ml) in a nice bag for £20, said don't really want to spend £36 and she 'remembered' a voucher she had for £10 off, she even threw in a sample of the http://www.boots.com/shop/product_details.jsp?productid=1090671&classificationid=1027687
and a few other products as well, so came out with a nice little bagful for £26
  • Don't know if it's open Easter Sunday or not. There is a reasonable sized one on 2 floors across the road from the train station that had some good bargains last autumn, and a medium sized retail park one near Asda five minutes walk from the station you just walk down Derby Rd that goes from the right hand exit of the station.

Afaik the law in England is that large stores (those subject to sunday opening restrictions) have to remain closed on Easter Sunday. The only day they have to close by law i think

  • Easter Sunday and Christmas Day

The Christmas Day (Trading) Act 2004 prohibits large shops from opening on Christmas Day.
The Sunday Trading Act 1994 requires large shops - those where the relevant floor area exceeds 280 square metres, to close on Easter Sunday. There are certain exemptions to this which are as follows:
    ..........includes...............
    d) Any shop which:
    i) is a registered pharmacy, :j  and
ii) is not open for the sale of retail goods other than medicinal products and medicinal and surgical appliances :(:cry: .
