    Good morning, everyone - :easter:

I've got a bit of a problem and I wondered whether anyone could advise me on the best way forward, please:

I treated myself to some P&P serum. I know I like it cos I got the Mother's Day round gift box (in the end - do you remember that fiasco?! LOL! Thanks to everyone on here who helped!) so I threw away the box as soon as I got it home and just put the container by the sink to use. When I came to use it I realised it wasn't a tube like I'd had before, but a squeezy plastic bottle. It's the same bottle as the 30ml trial sizes that you get in GWP come in and has a very wide neck, no nozzle or anything. So you just have to invert the bottle and squeeze to get the product out. Trouble is, this means you get a great big "gloop" out every time, and at £17 a pop I don't want to use that much thank you very much! I'm trying really hard to just squeeze a little but out, but it's nearly impossible. After using it for 4 days like this, I was exasperated, so I took it back to Boots hoping to exchange it for the new style, fine nozzled squeezy tube. The manager I spoke to was most unhelpful and having none of it. I think they realised that the squeezy bottle was bad packaging and that's why they've changed the design. She said they can't exchange as the product isn't faulty in that it does come out and I can use it.

Any ideas what to do now - give up or maybe contact CS?

Anyone else had the squeezy bottle and disliked it?
    :EasterBun
    TIA

  • question: if you dont have your card, and you want to use Points coupon, can you get the coupons scanned and the receipt validated? (witht he extra points?)

I went into boots today and i regretted going into it. :(

i went to get SG jam session. and a free toothbrush. Found a 50p SG coupon on the bottles so i thought...eureka. went to till..and my SA put the SG and toothbrush thru. then she asked for my card,..and i COULDNT find it...... :( so she refused to put my SG points thru, saying that she cannot scan points coupon without an AC??)

to make it worse,.,,..she had already scribbled on my 50p coupon..so no hope of cancelling the transaction and getting the coupon back.... :( i asked for my receipt to be validated and she said ok.

so i ended up with a toothbrush and SG, and total to pay was:
    4.49 (-50p voucher and 1p toothbrush)

and points was 16...according to my mental calculation. butwhen she handed me my receipt,....i realised that she had not validated my receipt.... and iwas told that there isno point cancelling the transaction and repeating as my SG coupon wont scan anymore..... so i thought..fine..i'll just return the SG in another store. it was then that i realised ...the SA had not scannedmy SG coupon, but did a price reduction on the SG...making it 4.50...so nopoint returning,a s i will only get 4.50 back. at this point,. :(:(
I'm sorry to hear out your disappointing shop ........ just to let you know that you can most definately get your points validated when using coupons, I have done this several times recently due to 1. losing my card and still wanting to collect the 400pts for S&G, I have never had a problem. I also did it secondly when I used another persons vouchers (Thanks Sam84uk:p ) just in case they queried the different name on the card and voucher ( I am a bit of a bottler!!) If i knew how to post a receipt to let you see I would ( but I am not that technical!)

    HTH

Popped into Boots yesterday evening but got nothing due to picking wrong products - am soooo out of practice!! Need whipping back into shape! whip.gif

Now....I just wanted to make a little point and please don't shoot me down in flames cos it's absolutely non-judgemental...this is purely my own point of view....from a totally non legal angle as I have no idea where you would stand on a point of law with this.

The poster who mentioned getting prosecuted actually raises an interesting question. I'm not saying Boots would actually do it, but people have been prosecuted for things put through the SS tills in Tescos and plenty have got into trouble. If something has been put through by an SA they would surely have absolutely no recourse - their own staff member has effectively authorised the transaction. This doesn't hold true with an SS till as they can maybe argue you have knowingly "gained a pecuniary advantage" or something like that. Like I said, I'm no legal eagle.

Just a little point to think about. I always go for the manned till - some you win, some you lose. The fun's in the chase, eh ladies? :D

    I'm also jealous cos I haven't got any GWPs......yet. :p

    Happy Easter all x

Clare+3 my mum has been known to return things with some spiel about breaking out in a rash because of her sensitive skin. That's one area they don't take any chances and it's always worked. ;)

Clare, I would post the serum to Customer Care with a covering note to explain the problem, the address is on the back of Boots receipts, it's the one with the PO Box number.. The worst that could happen is that they would just send it back but my guess is that they would replace it with a giftcard or similar so you could buy a new one.
I'm sure they would want to know about packaging issues.

havent been to boots today spent far too much in there yesteday £0.48p and i paid by card
You spent far too much !!!;)

Went to the small Boots in Bromborough yesterday ( to see if I could get one of those £2.50 berry holdalls ~ no luck!!) anyway they had quite a bit of stuff reduced, I spoke to SA and they are having a refit so reducing the items that they aren't going to stock after the refit and she thinks possibly over the next week or so further items reduced.

    Some things i spotted
All shockwaves reduced to less than £1 and on BOGOFF
Pantene hair mousses 75p ( can getthem free with shampoo though!)
    Various hairbrushes reduced by 75%
Good one for you nettinoo they had 3 different expert products reduced 2 of them 80p ish I know you use the 100pts coupon so may be worth a visit for you 9no mags in this store though yesterday)
Also still had loads of Sanctuary Spa Essentials Bath Relaxer 250ml for £1.19 but don't stock GWP !

Most of the reduced stuff is not in the reduced section but on the normal shelves with clearance sticker on SEL

'Big' boots in Bromborough clearance section had a few more items but the same old stuff really got a couple more toothbrushes (free of course!) and a couple of naked items reduced. Had a good scour of the normal shelves to see for any clearance SEL's but couldn't find anything with any stock left. But they do have mags !

Sam did you go th Cheshire Oaks saturday? did you get anything??

You could always try using a cotton wool bud or even something like a plastic straw or chopstick to dip into the bottle and use as an applicator?
