I drove home from the Lakes today and my car was like a cork in the ocean-all over the shop-it also took me 5 bloomin hours to go 132 miles! My sat nav and I feel out spectacularly (?) as on the way up she was determined I should not set tyre on a motorway then since the M6 was closed, she though in her wisdom to send me there no matter what options I chose and eventually I just told her to bogoff...(that was of course after travelling around Warrington desperate for the loo...)

Also, results day at work, so found out I'm getting a gift of some shares from my company. How nice of them. They're worth about £250 and I can't sell them without having to pay tax on them, but great that I can add those to company shares from a previous employer (worth about £150!) and gradually build up a wee portfolio for a rainy day. If you want to avoid motorways, go into the setting and change the speed down - to something *very* slow.

I've done that for town centres - I'm a country roads kind of guy...

evening all! just sat having a cuppa in front of hollyoaks still nursing me poorly finger!

been to get my last few dollars for the hols today. been looking at my fat self in the mirror and making myself more miserable-hence went and ate more biscuits-go figure :rolleyes:

Fat is nothing to be miserable about. It's just something to overcome. Like a stain on the carpet, if you put some work in, it's going to fade away.

Always take a map - what if your sat nav breaks?

Provided you didn't call her fat - she'll speak to you again. It's only men that they go into the sulks with...

Well, tbh, I would have been ok...It was really just a straight drive down the M6...minus the *slight* delay around Haydock and Warrington-I fould my way out without her anyway-and I would NEVER call a woman fat-thems fighting words...

Happy Birthday KYH, It's my mum's birthday too today and she had a horrible day. She had a hospital appointment and I had to take her. She lives about 10 minutes away from the hospital but she also lives very near the dreaded Thelwall Viaduct, which was closed today because of the winds. The whole area was gridlocked and it took two hours to get to the hospital, she'd missed her appointment and the consultant wouldn't see her because he was running late so she had to make another appointment, so then we just turned round and came home - another hour's journey!! Three wasted hours sat in a car!!!! :mad:

oopalah-we probably passed each other VERY slowly at some point today-it was a nightmare wasnt it?

Hope she gets an appointment soon.
