    Morning

Just done the first of THREE school runs today, in the howling wind and freezing rain. Natasha is at nursery this afternoon, so will have a couple of hours to myself - think I might walk up to town if it's not TOO cold! Or I might just come home and do the ironing....ooooooh, the excitement that is my life....

    LOL! Thankfully it's only a 10 minute walk each way, but that's 60 minutes enforced exercise today, so that's a good thing...I suppose..:o :p

Hello all - feeling a bit down in the dumps and I do plan to spend some money today!!

It's my birthday - my husband forgot, my mother sent me a handbag I wouldn't be seen dead with but is so unmissable I won't be abe to ebay it withou her noticing and my brother sent me a cheque for £50 - made out to me in my maiden name (this goes with the one he sent at Xmas made out in in my married name but spelt incorrectly!) Sorry to moan but feeling miserable !
  • Hello everyone *waves*,

Didn't realise it was no smoking day. I echo IA's sentiments and also want to wish the best of luck to anyone trying to give up the fags.

If you are still intent on smoking, which I am not judging you for, then do get down to the shop and buy them before this afternoon's budget.

EDITED TO SAY - Happy Birthday kyh...hope you have a good day.

    Awww, happy birthday kyh!

Give your husband a kick up the backside and tell him to spoil you this evening by making dinner while you put your feet up.

Can you get someone else to sell the handbag on ebay for you? Or do you mean she would notice you no longer had it?

The cheque can possibly still be paid in, providing the spelling mistake isn't too bad, and you take your marriage certificate (and possibly another form of id such as passport/driving license) into the bank with you.

Errr....if it's your maiden name, and your brother has written it, isn't it the same as HIS name? Doesn't he know how to spell his own name? :rotfl:

Edit - oh hang on - misread it.....

    Morning everyone,

Happy birthday KYH, could you be honest-ish with your mum and say something like, although it's a lovely bag it really doesn't go with anything you have and you just wouldn't use it enough to do such a beautiful creation justice, but need one in x colour style, so would she mind if you exchanged it?

As for your brother, I would call him to say thank you but just mention that you are now married so can't cash it. If he sent it, I'm sure he wants you to treat yourself so wouldn't mind sending another.

I think you should go into town today and treat yourself to some lovely pamper things and maybe a new outfit then present your husband with the receipts, while pointing out that this will be remembered and is in the vault of marital black marks (which can be used against him at any point in time you wish).

I do hope today turns into a lovely one for you x
