Check your emails... I got an email today telling me...

From Thursday 30th October 2008 to Sunday 9th November 2008 (local UK time), selected Private Sellers who list item(s) in an eligible category using the Auction-style format on eBay.co.uk, will pay a reduced Insertion Fee of 5 pence (£0.05) per listing.

It looks to be by invitation only, so if you get one of these emails then you can have this 5p insertion fee and if you don't get one then unfortunately you can't.

The Ebay account I got it on was one I sold quite a bit of stuff on earlier this year but then haven't used for 2-3 months.

It's been a while since anyone posted! Today I will list a few things I've been saving as they are gift sets and I thoght they may sell a little better in the run up to Christmas!

One item has had a bid for £5 already so that's a start, and another has 2 watchers so I'm hopeful!

Actual, just double checked and it's up to £6.05 and the other item has 7 watches (I think this one will have a bit of a flurry of bids at the end!) Finger's crossed!

Buyers are certainly fewer than I found this time last year... most of my higher priced sales have been going abroad this last few weeks

i think this is a great idea! I'm going to have a chat to hubby about this when he comes it.

i remember reading in a Simplicity newsletter about someone who had taken stock of everything in her flat and worked out that only around 10% of the items were used more than once a month. She worked out that close on 6,000 individual items in her flat were barely ever used.

I've just looked up and can identify about 20 things straight away that could go. Whether someone will buy them or not is another story!

DOnt want to be rude and butt in, but i have been reading this and think its a fab idea - can i join in?!

I dont think i will aim for quite so high though, will start off at about 500? I dont even think i own that much! But we will see...

Do you just start them at 1 and hope they go up?!

Hey there everyone, is this challenge still going on?
If so, I'd very much like to join it please
I'm going to aim high and go for 5000 items sold from tomorrow onwards - not going to go for a money target as my main problem is getting the willpower to actually listing items, hopefully this challenge will help!

If it's okay to join, I'll post back with an updated number of items as I get them sold!

Off to raid the garage now....
