For scrubbing the bath i use one of those mesh/net body scrub things along with any old bubble bath/shower gel/shampoo,you know those cheap, tacky sets someone always buys you for xmas, the ones in a basket that come with a massage roller thing. Not very old style and im not ungrateful, honest,i just rather they kept their money because everyone knows i have sensative skin, ive told them often enough that i can only use certain products.

If you can find it, Bar Keepers Friend is great for cleaning stuff without damaging the surface.

Help - have read through loads of tips, but none say how to clean brown 'water' type stains from bath (caused by leaking taps).

    Bath is grey  acrylic.

    Thanks.

On acrylic, hard water marks can be removed with a cream cleaner, if its tidemarks try white spirit, then rinse with a washing up liquid solution.

    Hi ali,

If the stains are caused by leaking taps, the chances are that they are a build up of limescale. Try rubbing the marks with neat vinegar....it worked a treat on our bathroom sink where we had a stain from a dripping tap.

Discoloration may be permanent.... if the surface has been attacked.

Not very MSE, but sounds like you need a need one !:D

If the mark is on a part of the bath that you can't easily soak with vinegar for a while, either dampen a piece of kitchen roll with vinegar and leave it on it, or make a paste with vinegar and bicarbonate of soda and paste it on.

I had a rust mark on my white plastic bath (caused by a deoderant can or something). I was told to cover it with salt and squeeze lemon juice onto the top. Left it for 20minutes and it came off a treat!
