    This looks good.
Do you have to agree to a minimum term to get the cashback, or can you switch, grab the cash and switch again?

Nice spot.Just make sure you have checked that you are on the best tariff through Energyhelpline or similar.
For me Powergen (I'm in the Seeboard RH area) is at least £155-£183 cheaper approx over the year, than if I use SP.Powergen version 5 online direct debit.

Also I have been looking recently at the referals board on here about Quidco cashback payments and some members have expressed delays in payments
    with certain merchants.

Hope what ever you decide you save money.

I thought the Government had given the go ahead to tying you into contracts for 12 months - so just double check the terms.

    Edit - From Martin's utilities page -

Until late 2007 energy companies weren’t allowed to lock you in. The regulator Ofgem (sic) then decided that the market was competitive enough and thus companies can now require you to sign up for a year's contract. Most don’t but do check before you sign up; it’s always better to have the freedom to ditch and switch.
All the World is a Stage; and I'm going through a difficult one at the moment!

Nice spot - will have to get round to doing this
  • Just to add - I've been with Scottish Power for over a year now and have found their service excellent. We send our meter readings online, so don't have anyone knocking at the door wanting to read the meters. Even the bills are sent online and you get a discount for opting out of paper bills.
  • Be careful and do not sign up in order to just get the quidco cashback. It isn't certain you will get the cashback as it needs to track first and then be verified. Checking with Energy helpline Scottish power are dearer than my current supplier by £27 and also dearer than the cheapest supplier (Eon) by £178 per annum. Checking with quidco Eon attracts a £55 cashback for a dual fuel change so I'll be changing to Eon and effectively earning myself just over £200:D (if it tracks)

Our electricity is currently with Eon and the Gas iswith Scottish Power.
Could we take advantage of this offer - or does it have to be completely new applicants - ie not current customer even though it isn't dual fuel?

  • Just spent 20 minutes going through the switch process which was very straight forward and has tracked immediately in Quidco. :D

Damn, I switched to them 6 weeks ago when it was £60 cashback. The transaction was tracked and validated through Quidco and I am expecting payment later this month.

I think I may switch to e.on as they are cheaper now.
