I've never tried but daughter is having problems with a new phone which won't charge, so I wanted to give her an old handset in the meantime.
As it will only be for a day and only for emergencies, I would ideally like to just put a couple of quid on it - can I do this or does it have to be £5? (Usually use a swipe card to top up).

Thank you.
It will have to be £5 then!0 -
If you have 10p left on it, send text the word ORANGE to 60040.
You will win either credit (£1 or £5) or 50 free texts, (or a free Wii)

apologies, yes, so it does - £1 each added to 3, even on an OVP Virgin contract 9 years old0 -
I read about the free competition on the other thread, sadly there was no credit at all on the phone for her to enter. That would have solved the problem, if only there had been 10p left.
(BTW, it does work for "old" orange customers, I have been with them for 5 years and got 50 texts, whether they actually get credited to my phone remains to be seen...!)
I can call her, but like her to be able to contact me if she needs to. So I've had to put £5 on. With strict insrtuctions not to waste it texting her boyfriend.
She can enter the text comp. tonight too.0
