    I know of lots of people who accept rules need to be in place then get annoyed when those rules are applied to them as well:p

  • I've now had this resolved. I spoke to customer services, who refused to budge on their 14 day return policy. I got the name of their customer service manager and wrote a very long tedious complaint letter to her. She then responded saying please phone me. She then asked me to return the two items and she would give me a gift card for the money. Yey success!

    I went to TK Maxx in Charlton, SE London, to buy some cheap Maglites. I was amazed that absolutely everything had security tags on it. Even the two cheapo bottle holders for £1.99 each had tags on.
    The man without a signature.
  • It’s all those eBay sellers who have spoiled it:

    Buy something with a well-known label at TK Maxx, put it on eBay with a high starting price, hoping for a big profit. If the item does not sell, you had previously four weeks to return it to the store and ask for your money back.

    Apart from the listing fees, you haven’t lost any money. Unlike other places where you buy the stuff outright and if it doesn’t sell you have lost out.

    That is called ‘entrepreneurial risk’.
