When I was in the Post Office today, the rate was 1.03, and M&S 1.06. Just for interest, in case anyone was thinking of quickly changing a few. Didn't look anywhere else, eg Thomas Cook, I was a bit shell-shocked. Will we ever see the 70p euro again? Somehow, I doubt it.

It's rediculous. I find this thread very informative and I check this thread at least 3 to 4 times a day so it should go back to where it was:mad:

I think sterling has found it's found it's level know and it will hover around the 1.11/1.13 mark. Gutted because I thought we would see at least 1.25 by now. I just don't get it. Yesterday, as reported in some of the papers, house prices by the end of the year, confidence returns to the high street. Did nothing for sterling though did it.

    thank-you for the support Verona

unfortunately the Unemployment figures also released yesterday were no help for the UK economy

but you are quite correct, its sometimes baffling why the Euro seems to have some kind of hold over the Pound at the moment, especially as there is some equally shocking economic news coming out of EuroZone lately, if not worse
