This thread is freaking me out! I've not had the offer I want yet so I'm mentally preparing myself for my plan B. That's B for 'boo hoo I don't wanna go here'... Also done an access course in humanities and desperately hoping to get into Edinburgh Uni. Fingers crossed.
Good luck everyone!0 -
Plan A is all go. Just had an offer for Edinburgh, yipee!0

Access is great, i'm just coming to the end of my Access to Teaching. I've won a place on a Primary Ed BA (Greenwich, Avery Hill), subject to passing Access.

Good luck to all of you! I completed my Access course back in 2006 and I have to say, it prepared me well for uni - not that it isn't hard work of course!0

Congrats to everyone who's got a place on a future course

I was just wondering if anyone was as paranoid as I am -
went to university in 2003 but had to drop out due to serious illness. A lot has happened since then but I've finally been able to contemplate going back. I was given an unconditional offer for UCL which has really impressed me as they only give out 25 places a year and usually ask for really high grades.
But that's kinda why I'm now paranoid - when I went for my interview the majority of the people in my interview group were only applying to the course as an insurance choice if they don't get to medical school. So if most of the 25 who get offers actually want to go to medical school and get the grades, how likely is it that my course will get cancelled?
My husband thinks I'm worrying over nothing as the course has been going for years so the admissions people ought to know what they're doing... Plus because it's unconditional I don't have to pass my OU course and so won't be spending the next 4 months worrying about getting the grades I need so need something to worry about
All the UCAS forums and things don't help because I can't find anyone on there who actually wants to do my course - a couple have applied as insurance offers...
Am I being silly??
(sorry for rambling on a bit...)0 -
Neuroscience sounds interesting (but difficult). I found the same at my Nat Sci open day/interview. A lot of the others there that day were would-be med students who didn`t seem terribly interested in the course. I`m sure you will be fine and enjoy your course.
I didn`t apply to UCL thinking that an access course would not be sufficient. Ah well.0 -

Unis generally make more offers than they have spaces on the course, knowing that not everyone will take up the place offered.
Of course this sometimes backfires on them, which is why my uni ended up with 20 more people than they had places for on one course in the year after I started, but it is pretty rare I think0 -
I'm doing an access course too and I'm freaked out by all you who say 10 weeks to go.. I still have a research project to do!
I'm been offered a conditional place at Shefield Hallam ( which I've accepted) so all I need to do now is do my project, oh and now stress about applying for the finance side of it.0
