what a crazy story! I can't believe they would treat you like that!
we had a few problems with dominos overcharging us, delivering the wrong things etc so I wrote to their head office and never heard a thing.
we got our own back by pushing our luck..
i called our local store, said I had a voucher from head office entitling us to any pizza any size, three starters and a drink form £9.99, he seemed confused and passed me onto the manager and i said 'oh yes it's from milton keynes head office, at which point he took the order, and we had a super fast delivery..the driver never even asked for the non existent voucher, which we planned to claim we couldnt find if asked..teehee
small victory but i felt better..
probably more down to dumb staff tha nanything else though.
Hope you hear back from them..can't wait to see their response!

Your def doing the right thing taking this further. I'm a chubby girly too, and i have to say, i am so insecure i prob wouldnt have complained. But i am so glad you did!

I get rude comments quite a bit and it just makes you feel so awful. Its worse when its in front of friends or partners.

I hope you get a letter from them soon!!

Franchises are the worst. We had an incident at a Macdonalds drive-thru in Wolverhampton - we had to go and wait for the food, for ages, then this girl came out with the food, which wasn't our order. Anyway, to cut a long story short, when we said it wasn't our food, and could we have our order, she gave us the finger - I had my 3 year old son in the car. I was furious, went to talk to the manager, who didn't want to know, he said I had threatened her? I had a witness who said I hadn't - the franchisee didn't care when he was contacted via the HO (who didn't want to know 'cos it was a franchise). We got sent a free happy meal by way of compensation - have never used it, don't intend to, and will never go back to those branches ever!

Let us know whats happened - he sounds like a bully!

I have loads of sympathy. I am also on the larger side of things as a result of long term illness. People just automatically assume when they see a large person it is of their own doing. It isnt always.

We shouldnt judge people on looks - its whats on the inside that matters.

LOL just spotted all the demands for an update, so thought I ought to close the episode on this one once and for all!
Well - I phoned their head office the very next day (faxed through the letter) and spoke to the head of their Customer Services dept.
I told him what had happened, and he was appalled. He said that for the franchisee to have identified my details he would have had to go through quite a lengthy cross referencing procedure with the vouchers they had taken that week. He assured me that this was most definately NOT company policy - and couldnt apologise enough.
I later got a letter from their head office apologising most profusely about the way I had been treated, and assuring me that my details had been completely removed from their database so there should be no reason for their staff to have any further contact with me.
They have leafletted at the station a couple of times since, and the boy who started the whole thing hasnt been there, so hopefully is no longer allowed this particular skive.
Re being overweight and taking abuse - frankly I have had enough, and am no longer prepared to put up with it.
I think there is a tendency for fat people, when abused by strangers in public, to think "well - I AM fat, and they are right, so I can really say anything about it". This thinking must STOP! I, and you, have as much right as anyone else to walk down the road without abuse. I am not putting up with it any more!
