There is obviously some mistrust here, if your boyfriend is suspicious of you I think you need to talk with him and try and sort it out cos it spiral out of control and could damage your relationship, there different ways of checking what you have been viewing but pressing F12 will not do this as if he is not admin then he shouldn’t be able view temp files in your workspace.

He's talking rubbish and if he feels the need to do this, tell him you feel the need to find someone else who is a bit more trusting.0

Hi Proliant,
He has told me he can view what i have been on as soon as he starts the computer!. He set it up on wireless network. how can he view? I am no techie
I have tried to talk to him but he does not trust me ...
any suggestions? thanks0 -
F12 wouldn't do that anyway, I don't think. As far as I know, it only does anything if you're using Word at the time... could be wrong, though.

Hi Conor,
I feel so stupid cos every time he tells me he can or has viewed i go into melt down and confess my e-bay purchases!
I have never bought anything that i cannot afford so i don't see his problem
with me as its my money!
prehaps i should dump and find someone else!0 -
Then next time say "oh for goodness sake. Fine I'll return it, but you really wanted XYZ and you've spoilt the surprise".0

This isn't a techie problem.
This is a relationship problem.
Hope you both get it worked out

Thanks Dave like the picture... can i put another passowrd on my start up?0

confess my e-bay purchases!
Personally I think he's just bluffing, as mentioned F12 does nothing so if he is doing something nefarious it's by some other means than he's told you. His bluff is obviously working though as he may as well have access to your history if you're just going to tell him.
Probably not the best board for relationship advice and lord knows Techies aren't exactly schooled in the art of love but I agree with others that there's something more seriously wrong if there's such trust issues (on both sides)."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Any data transmitted over a wireless connection is obviously open to the possibility of being read, however you need specialist tools and software to do this, I think he is trying to put the frighteners on you, if has installed some form of logging on your home network i.e. some routers (where the internet comes in) can log web traffic, has gave you any examples of what web sites you have been on? If not I am guessing he is just bluffing, I work as and I.T Support Engineer for a company am responsible for over 200 users and one of my jobs is to monitor web traffic, if an employee has been naughty then I will tell them, give them facts not try and scare them (sometimes works though)
