Look at the post just up there ^^^^ a bit by frizz_head and click on the blue links in the quoted bit and you'll see some of Ted's posts.Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. I'd like to nominate Ted for post of the month.
Whilst I appreciate the quality of many of the posts that save us all a few quid, I'd urge anyone, before posting a suggestion for the saving of a few quid on cotton buds, etc, etc, just for this month of August to spare a moment and consider the 527 people that have thanked Ted for his contributions, and the depth of knowledge he has shared on the board.
I'd also like to point out, having made a couple of dumb posts myself, his skill in gently suggesting more appropriate courses of action.
Finally, and I think repeating myself, just one of Ted's ideas will save my son at least £24,000 in the next ten years - and I'm working on others he's made that will make this amount seem small.
So, I urge anyone to think most carefully before making a post, and let's try and make August Ted's month.
P.S. I very much doubt that Ted cares that much about this award, and I for one think that's a fine and noble reason why he should get it.

Me too - His posts are exceptionally useful and always helpful, and seems like an all round nice guy! (And not as grumpy as the signature suggests!)

Ted Hutchinson for me too, for all the reasons listed above.
What I do think should be considered is that the winner of Post of the Month is often the person who, with just one post saves a lot of people a lot of money, this is great, obviously, but there are some members who write long and detailed posts, like Ted, who get overlooked because they don't do 'bells and whistles' posts with immediate impact.
His posts will still be viable and useful long after the special offer has gone.
I think that there should be 2 awards per month, one for money saving pointers like the B & Q prize last month and another for a helpful post or indeed, poster. If I screw my eyes up tight I can just about see where you're coming from0 -
Ted Hutchinson, for his considered and thoughtful replies. I've had a bit of time to look around the site today and he consistently comes up with the goods!
Thanks, Ted.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -

I thought this AWARD was for POST of the Month - not POSTER of the month??"Unhappiness is not knowing what we want, and killing ourselves to get it."Post Count: 4,111 Thanked 3,111 Times in 1,111 Posts (Actual figures as they once were))Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.0

Well, not exactly, if you look back to Junes award that was given to 2 members who devote a lot of time to helping with mobile phone problems, if you look back a little further in the Roll of Honour you will see other winners who won not for just a single post but for consistently being helpful to other members.0

to put my input i actually won poster of the month for posting freebies over a long period of time rather than an individual post

Then surely the title should be changed to reflect this.
I'm sure the original intent was for the POST of the month.
But perhaps I'm mistaken.
Either way, I'm happy that whoever receives the award deserves it, anyway.
Specially you , Foxy.:)
