How about challenging him to come up with the money himself. If he REALLY wants them he needs to make some sacrifices. If he downgraded the car, got rid of Sky (if you have it) or sold some of his precious 'toys' he could make the money to buy them.
Sounds to me though that he is quite used to stamping his foot and wailing like a 3 year old and expecting everyone else to jump to attention. Tough love time on that!!! Change your ebay passwords so he can't help himself for a start!
Good luck0 -

JACKIEB - i was thinking the same when i read your earlier post. I think there should be a wee planet that they live on and that they only get off it if we need them.
Thanks again guys for all the replies - i've calmed down a lot. just woke him up (he was on nights) to tell him his wages are in and that they are crap so the golf clubs are out the window till he gets a decent paying jobOfficial DFW nerd no 551 - proud to be dealing with my debts

He doesn't think twice about going out 2/3 nights a week and spending £40 at a time, but somehow its my fault that he has no money because I 'steal' it from him..... he has no clue at all how much anything costs, and tells me I'm 'boring him' when I do try to show him. I'd get a bit geeky and spreadsheety about this. I'd make him write down what his outgoings are, and add in mine and graph what rubbish he wastes his on (apologies to the golfers out there but it is rubbish!) and then colour them on a chart. Your money goes on the family, his goes on his boy's hobbies.
About time he grew up and left being a kid to the children!Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0 -

Whoops, sorry.
I looked at the comment by JackieB and thought it was you! That will teach me to speed read threads!:rotfl: :rotfl:0 -
It's him who insisted I go and spend £2200 on a TV and surround sound, and when we got it, he said if I hadn't wanted to pay that I shouldn't have got it - but he'd whined and moaned so much beforehand, saying what was the point in working away for so long if he didn't have anything to enjoy when he got home....aargh!!
