Hello all!!
im always trying to spread the word......so here i am sharing it with you!
i work for Asda, and usually do my shopping there,as it is close to home, im there anyway when working! Plus my 10% discount! But another reason is the little bonus they give shoppers....
If you cut out all the money-off coupons you recieve in magazines, mail through your door etc, and take them with you when shopping, you can get up to 10% off your bill whether you buy the products on the coupons or not!
so, if i have a £10 food bill, and a £1 coupon for 'Olay' products, but dont actually buy any 'Olay' products, i can still redeem it off my shopping!
It may not sound much, but trust me, it really helps! I do it all the time!
Another tip is, sign up to loads of freebies, such as Pampers,Olay,L'oreal etc and all you do is give them an email address (just delete the emails you get!) and thats it! Not only do they send you freebies, they send coupons with them saving you money on your shopping! :money:
I hope this helps!
P.S:
If Asda over charges you, or you spot a mistake on the prices, let them know at customer services.....they should give you a £2 'goodwill' giftcard!! woohoo!! x x

When I was overcharged the CSA refunded the difference but didn't offer the £2 gift card. I said "I thought you gave a £2 voucher if a customer is overcharged". CSA mumbled that was correct and grudgingly arranged the gift card.
I came away with the impression that you do get a £2 gift card if overcharged but only if you already know about it and ask!
Good to know that they are taking vouchers even though the product is not purchased but is this just at your store or nationwide?0 -
The only supermarket I haven't tried this in is Sainsburys, but Asda, Tesco and Morrisons all do it. You can only use one of each type of coupon, and they have to be general coupons eg. £1 off Olay, as you say above would be fine, but I think most supermarkets will refuse to take a coupon that says '£1 off Olay at Morrisons', for example.
Thanks for sharing the tip-I save a fortune on my shopping in this way!0 -

Tesco definitely DON'T do it - have tried several times but they always refuse if you haven't bought the item.0 -

I have handed over several coupons, only to be refused...i looked like a right idiot. And i did complain but the manager insisted i needed to buy the items on the coupons to get the discount. looks like i picked the wrong store that day eh.

our tesco take vouchers up to 50% of you shopping even if you have not bought the product as long as its not specificaly for another shop.
we save ours and use them all in one go.
and as for being overcharged at asda, it happens pretty much every time we shop there and they always moan about the £2 gift cardWWSD(what would Scooby Doo)0 -
I asked the manager at my local Morrison's and was told I would have to buy the products to use the coupons. Why can't the same rules apply
nationwide0 -
mamamia, I think you may need to say that not ALL Asda's do this. I too work for Asda, and I can safely they they will REFUSE your coupons unless you have bought the product!
They used to accept them, but this was a VERY long time ago!
As for the £2 on a gift card if there is a mistake- the Customer Service colleague is told to use their discretion when giving these out- it isn't a well known fact! SO- if there is a mistake- do make sure you get it, some CS colleagues are old fuddy duddys and won't do it!

I was told yesterday that they had stopped giving the £2gift cards if you get over charged
I bought 2 fairtrade bouquets of roses, they were on offer at £4 each reduced from £5 but scanned through at the £5.00, the man at the till said he couldnt change the total when it had been scanned so then had to queue at customer service to be looked up and down as is if I was trying to pull a fastone, she went to look at the display and confirmed what I had told her, refunded my £2 on to credit card and when asked about the giftcards she said that these had been withdrawn and were not done anymore, most unsatisfactory after having to queue for 5-10mins to get my money back... next time I will just leave all of my shopping at the till if I notice that I get overcharged...maybe then they will allow the people at the till to correct mistakes at the point where thay are made0 -
sorry to all those that have been turned away at the checkout when using coupons, ive been told in my store that it was something all asda's do!? not sure why some stores dont allow this.
