Hi Jay, i read on hotukdeals that someone got their samsung u800 unlocked by code from a place called foneszone.co.uk.
They were charged £18.99. Do you know of another way it can be done cheaper by code?
I called o2 who said they charge £15 and take 28days.0 -

If you go to various phone unlocking shops you might get it done cheaper with cables and hardware, I myself charge £18 for the codes, and they take 2-3 days, but I would have a look through the yellow pages and ring a few local shops up and see what they quote you mate.0 -
Can i ask why it costs so much to get a code and it takes so long?
Not criticising...just curious?0 -

It varys from Network to Network, I get codes for all Vodafone phones for £10 usually get the codes within a few hours, All Motorola phones on all networks apart from 3 I get for £13 and get the codes the next day, Viewtys and Blackberrys are £30 and they can take upto 15 days to arrive. Its because the networks charge so much for the codes that we have to buy the codes for a high price. I dont know why some take longer to give you the codes than others though.0 -

The put it bluntly, all codes which are not directly supplied by the network's themself are stolen by employee's (of whichever network (vodafone,o2 etc) or manufactors (motorola, samsung etc)) of that company somewhere in the world, hence the reason for the difference in price's and lead times. These employee's then supply shop's/internet companies who sell codes to the pubilc/trade etc.

Yes it can be unlocked but not for free unless its a contract phone, if its contract then you can contact vodafone and they will give you the unlock code free, if not then you can contact me and I will help you to unlock it.0
