This is supposed to work, but I've never tried it (you need to register to access the s/w on the site).

Thanks for the link. It looks like i'd have to flash the phone's software and I have neither the time or energy. Isnt there a way of just using some kind of code?

As far as I'm aware there are no free code generators for any LG handsets.

There might be someone on Ebay that'll do them via IEMI?

Do not do this at all.

My OH bought a nokia 6500 slide when they were new, it was locked on Orange and he thought, ahh well they're easy to get unlocked so wanted to use it on 02 as that was his network.

Guy at the market stuffed it up and then the phone wouldn't even accept his Orange sim card. Phone had to be sent away to god knows where, the guy off the market stall did give my OH another phone to use, but i was panicking thinking, 1...he was never going to get his phone back cos the guy just wouldn't go to that market anymore or 2.... the phone would just be ruined forever.

Turned out they couldn't unlock it, but did end up restoring it so it would accept the Orange sim card, OH just switched networks and carried over him 02 number.

Would never try and get a phone unlocked ever again. Well at least not on a market anyway.
