from the very first post in this thread
Do not ask for codes in this thread
DO NOT PM ME FOR UNLOCK CODES
Most Motorola's , LG's , Samsungs and Sony Ericssons cannot be unlocked by code and need to be unlocked by direct cable or clip in a shop.
If there is not a code listed for your phone below then there is NO free way to unlock it, you need to find a shop or Market Stall to do it for you (correct as of 08/10/09)
Expect to pay between £5 - £20 for most phones for the person to do the unlock
O2 iphones can now be unlocked for free if on contract or £15 if on PAYG ,see here

Samsung SGH G600
My son has G600 phone and wants to swap with a friend of his. They are both on the Virgin network. We have previously unlocked my phone and his phone following the instructions kindly posted by 'arsenalfc' on page 60 of this thread. However his phone still shows the Sim Lock as 'on' and when he tries to de-activate it asks for a code. He says he has not set a code and we have tried the normal '0000' and '7890' (Virgin default) codes. If we follow the unlocking sequence again with my o2 sim in it then it will work until the phone is switched off but then asks for a code when the phone is switched back on. If we look at his lock status' then all show inactive apart from the Sim Lock. Does anyone know anyway we can de-activate it?
Thanks
(Hope this makes sense - I am not particularly up on my phone technology!!)

Hi, I am thinking of buying a tocco ultra which is locked to t-mobile, I read that there are no free codes for unlocking.
Can this be unlocked over the internet, if so any recommendations on a decent company to use?
Or do I need to take it into a shop, do most shops unlock this, any idea how much?0 -

Hi, new to this thread, so please be gentle:cool:
I have a Samsung GT-E2120 that is locked to O2 (but recognises tesco mobile PAYG sim).
I want to use my orange PAYG sim in it.
Extensive reading today makes me think that it is a market stall job, but a couple of sites are "offering" the download codes for a few quid.
I am fairly computer literate so,
1) is it possible to unlock it by software generated numbers (presumably this is what O2 would do for a hefty charge)
2) if so is the software available to download for free/cheap
3) if not, does anyone on here have the expertise/contacts to point me in the right direction.
ThanksIt's nice to be nice .....
You HAVE checked google before asking, haven't you?;)
