I have found the best way is to advertise on multiple free sites. Copy and paste.
Adding another one to the previous list of free sites

    http://www.automobiletrader.co.uk

Just be careful when advertising online. for example the guy who comes down gives you a cheque and disappears with your car and than you go to the bank to find the cheque bounces.

Dealers seem to be selling equivalent for £14800 and we've got ours on at £13000 ono and would take £12000.

Tracyk, I have bought and sold many cars...... if the dealer price is £14,800 I would advertise the car at £11,995 and expect £11,000.

Not a good time to sell a car, people have realised the economy has gone t*ts up.

Try having a look at http://www.webuyanycar.com/ and pop the details of the car into there for a quotation... I'm looking at selling my BMW at the moment and the quote they sent for buying mine wasnt a million miles away from book price...

I think it depends very much on the car. They offered me £50 for a '97 Astra that I sold for £650 in the end

I put my old car online with AT and it was sold within a day or so. I had given it a really good polish and the pics looked great. I had no problems and no nutters calling me!! When it was sold I edited my ad and removed my phone no.

  • I've posted similar before so apologies if you've already read this.

Just sold my car on Autorader (Web only). I thought I had a problem as I was getting no calls but then month end came around and, I guess, people got paid. Before that I had only the occasional idiot call but by the 2nd of the month I could have sold it 4 or 5 times easily.

I really believe it was "Payday Syndrome".
