  • I just signed my niece and nephew up to the nickjr (now Grolier) website. Created my profile and when i finished there was 2 items in my basket worth almost £40 which they were asking for payment for!!!
  • wouldnt recommend using grollier!

its a big con - they send you 7 books 5 of them being free and then ask for payment within 7days for the other 2!!

then you have to phone an 0870 number to talk to them

And don't forget sites like Freecycle - to get free buggies, cots, car seats and any other bulky items :)
  • Thanks for your help re mum n baby sites it has been so helpful. My brother and partner are expecting their first child so I am trying to be helpful for them as they will struggle financially.

  • Sign up to every club you can. Pampers give money off every month usually with mailings, as well as intial £4. Huggies give £4 when you join. Boots Parenting Club and sign up for emails, then they will email you when doing 3 for 2s on nappies etc. Early Learning Centre big birthday club emails 20% off vouchers before your child's (and friends/relatives children if you register them) birthday. Cow and Gate, SMA etc also have baby clubs and mail discount vouchers. Tesco Basby Cub offers extra points when buying baby things.

Also, if you're using disposables you don't need nappy sacks when at home. Just put the nappy straight out to the wheelie bin. Better for the environment too!

  • There are groups on yahoo for things such as freecycle and baby items that are free. Not sure if I am allowed to post this here, but these types of things have helped me immensely and I have had most of my baby items from freecycle. I even got a brand new mamas and papas cot. Hope this helps
