Neither have we received notification when a bill is due.
Also it would be good if some of the firms offering vouchers could design them so that when they are printed off they do not require an enormous amount of ink.0 -
you could print them in black and white0

Any info on the free lightbulbs?0
-
yep, they're lightbulbs, provide light in times of darkness and are cheaper than paid for lightbulbs0
-
Two lightbulbs from PowerGen -- but £3 for the text message that asks for them...0
-
I may be missing something here. Where can we redeem these offers?0
-
at the address written on the vouchers, where it says "How to claim"0
-
Its two 9/40 bulbs and two 11/60 bulbs. Supposedly they are compact ones, presumably that means they are shorter and will fit in lightshades better.

I'm very grateful to sboard for sharing this offer with everyone. I'm sure it's genuine but I have a few questions for anyone who can help. Forgive me if I seem cynical, but in this day and age, we all should err on the side of caution. My concerns are...
o This voucher is not on the Powergen website but an external one, https://www.thesmartmarket.net, which seems to have no company homepage.
o There is no mention of this offer on the Powergen website. The nearest is the £3 text message 'offer' mentioned earlier.
o As we know, many individuals and companies would pay a lot of money for a list of Powergen customers WITH AN ACCOMPANYING SIGNATURE! The moneysavingexpert community is now a huge one and a potential target for scammers.
My questions are...
o Who are https://www.thesmartmarket.net?
o Has this offer been posted on any Powergen literature or reputable source, eg. a national newspaper?
o Can anyone confirm that the mail-in address in Dunoon is either a Powergen address or the address of a bulb distributor?
I have thought about phoning Powergen, but my experience of large organisations is most customer service staff know little non-mainstream information - particularly that which is not even on their website.
To be safe, I would recommend that nobody sends off the voucher until some of these questions are answered. The offer ends in 2007 anyway and a few extra days using standard bulbs won't hurt anyone.
This reply in no way makes any suggestion about sboard. In the unlikely event that this offer is not genuine, it is easy for anyone to be mislead by false offers.
However, as I said, I'm sure the offer is genuine and we'll all be enjoying our lightbulbs shortly...0 -
When Powergen advised of price increases via a letter to my home, there was a booklet included with 'paper' versions of the vouchers on that site and the address was the same. no idea about the site they are hosted on though and it's link to Powergen if any.0
