Did you know this??

Hi, First timer here so bear with any mistakes made in posting!!
It is that time of year where I need to sort out my car Insurance renewal.
Some of my details were wrong and I contacted issuer about them.
I am classed as main driver as my wife has no NCD and I am not the keeper!
They had that as me!
I also have 2 SP30s but they only had me down as one (OK... should have kept mouth shut!!) What did come out was that though MY excess was £200 my wifes' was £100.....
The price went up so I started to go online to trawl the sites.
One of these was moneysupermarket.
I got the list after giving all relevent details but.... after all the low to high prices I also got a list of sites which did not offer price. One of these was Bell. The reason they posted was that they were not going to cover my 'intended use of vehicle'. Apparently, as I had entered RETIRED in the occupation slot I couldn't commute??? Some other sites wouldn't offer cover because I was not the owner/keeper. Usually, we have simply looked at the renewal and if it's reasonable have stayed with them. So... as I asked, did YOU know this?

Uhm, no! If you fail to disclose any insurance information, you can find your insurance null and void. Or in the case of a friend of mine, having to fork out 3 years back pay in premiums, basically negating his claim!
A friend is someone who understands your past, believes in your future, and accepts you just the way you are.

I did know about the 'commute' one because we wanted to put my daughter on my insurance as a named driver, so that she could borrow my car when hers was being serviced.

They refused because I am not covered for commuting, and therefore she couldn't use the car for going to work

If you're retired, where do you commute to??

With the policy in question, if the policyholder's "occupation" is stated as retired, then no commuting is granted for any other named driver.
