Not many men on here are there?

I actually think this forum has pretty much the right balance of fluffy huggy posts and straight-talking advice ones - and I think both are just as important in the process of sorting things out. They're both things that friends do for each other when it matters, and there's people on here that do one or other or both for people that they've never even met. By nature I think I'm more of the problem-solving type but one of the things that this place has emphasised to me is that sometimes people need to talk, be listened to, be hugged (even if it's virtually) before they can deal with the practicalities of a situation.

Oh I'm female btw, but I can't wait for a long afternoon of rubgy and pints on Saturday

Essex girl - I couldn't agree more - I am always grateful for the support and advice that I have received on here, if I wanted a lecture about my finances, made to feel bad and stupid there are plenty of other people I could talk to!! It is my fault I am in debt and no amount of being told 'I shouldn't have done that' will change anything and sometimes all i need to know is that someone knows how I feel and understands where i am coming from. I would have loved to have been able to save 10% of my income since I left school but unfortunately the circumstances of my life have not allowed me to do that!!

Anyway thats enough of me ranting

I am surprised by how many men post on here I thought it was mostly women although I don't know why and I have now learnt that some of the people I thought were women are in fact men so sorry about that

Conrad, Sometimes I wish the world was that black and white and that human beings weren't complex and easily broken. People come here for many different reasons, debt comes in all shapes and sizes and for a variety of reasons. Telling people off (however full of truth it might be) rarely works, it just frightens them or makes them angry. Contructive advice means you go at the speed of the person you are talking to, everyone has to figure out their own way and this place helps all of us do that.

Now back to the single available men list???
