If you had a sick horse would you run it

    NO!

You would help it get better and then run it.

Having now faced debt (for what ever reason) I can more readaly understand why people dig holes and hide. For the first 6 months I was in denile and for the next 6 months pride stopped me from reacting. The last thing I needed was for someone to blert the facts at me. When I started to fix the situation I could easialy have slipped back and said "sod it" Feeling that your alone makes you feel vunerable and that in my opinion is why this board is valueable along with ideas and posible solutions. Advice is a valueable comodity (so is spelling) and it's up to the individual to decide if it's usable or not but if it's presented incorrectly it is always of no use. There is a good mix on here 'some lovy dovy, some condisending, some knowledgable and some unable to help because they have encoded their knowledge and presented their knowledge incorrectly

I'm of the male variety & on Saturday I shall be drinking beer, eating crisps & watching Wales beat Ireland in the 6 Nations rugby all at the same time. That sounds like pretty good multi - tasking to me!

I certainly hope that Wales don't beat Ireland. i'm fed up of getting ragged every monday morning here.....girlie btw. :)

Simon Cowell tells people probably for the first time in thier life that they have'nt got it, yet all thier life they would have heard the opposite from well meaning family and freinds.

The parallel with this forum is clear; People give each other super positive messages but tend not to address underlying issues. This gives the debtor a false sense of direction.

As a bloke I like to be told the truth, albeit in a polite wrapping. Just showering people with hugs and messages of support is'nt going to address thier real long term needs.

Many on hear I think have allowed themselves to be swept along with Kerry Catona / designer image / bling bling shallowness / WHAGS consumerism which causes them, to overspend on trainers, mags, gagets and so on.

What I would like to see on here are much more meaningful mature discussions on the true underlying reasons people get into debt, as this might help them change thier reality tunnels.

    EXAMPLE;
    I I said I was in bad debt due to losing my job and my car breaking down I would get this kind of response on here;
"Feel for ya babes, xxxx, big hugs, it can happen to anyone"

This might cause my brain receptors to flush with warmth but it doesnt help me. The message I would be getting wouldnt help me avoid the same fate in a years time.

The helpful messga ecould be- "ok bad luck with the accident, but if you had saved 10% of your income since leaving school you would have then easily been able to weather the storm when the INEVITABLE bad times caome along"

    How's this for honest then?
    Your typing's a bit rubbish! :D

    OK :D
people on here are generally looking for "Support" rather than a lecture.
    Now naff off:rotfl:

Support on it's own will never resolve issues.

If you you drink in bad pubs and attract bad partners you'll have bad luck and a bad life - there is that a lecture or an insight?

I suggest people to consider they will imporve thier life by being much more orgaised (the single biggest trait I find in my customers with debt problems is a lack of orgainisational skills), for example to get on the voters roll and dealing with every piece of paper the moment it hits your mat and keeing evry different item in separte files (not a big cluster of utility bills in one file).

Boring, but a lot more likely to change outcomes than a few internet hugs:T

And it ain't gonna change - I'm always typing and working at the same time and as they say, us blokes are'nt supposed to do 2 thingys at once.

I'd l;ike to do the following thread but I dare'nt:

Why is 90% of Greek women on thier native beaches have slim magical figures, yet 90% of Brit women on the same beashed have crusty thick heals, corn beef skin and rolls of blubber?

And sometimes my posts are all fluffy - cos sometimes that's all I've got to offer - my support.

But where are all you supposed angels here on Earth?
I see very few of you. I see selfish parents that shout at and even strike thier kids. I see parents who dont allow thier children to speak when they have guests. I see lazy people who serve up pre packaged food for thier kids

Yet I come on here, and everyone is 'suposedly' a temple of understanding and concern.

    I just dont buy it.

Think about people with a long term weight programme. We can all be nice and supporting, sure, but in the end an awful lot of people would do well to hear the true message that others are thinking; Your cells store fat that your body cant use. Therefore your body will not get fat if it receives only the level of fat the cells can utilise.
There were NO, ZERO, ZILCH fatties in prisoner of war camps. DOES THAT SOUND HARSH?
    Why does that sound harsh?

If it were truly down to fat genes or big bones / funny glands then a proportion of people in prisioner of war camps would have been fat. In other words there is a line which if you over step you get fat.

Thats a spikey meassag of mine, yes?

Surely only a confrontation of the absolute facts is the best most honest course to salvation?

If you eat too many kebabs you will look like one. If you sit on a sofa too much you will have a bent stoop by the time your 70. If you put your feet in nettle you get stung.

I know so many women who have dieted to no avail for years and I think its because they get false brain inputs.

SO THATS WHY i DONT COME HERE MUCH, BECAUSE MY HONESTY IS NOT WELCOME

Se ya babes, hugsss, xxxxxxx:D :D:o:o:o Keep up wiff da diet, init, you'll get thier bubs (but dont trip over the sausage roll trolly on the way)
