    Hiya :)

I'll add your post direct to the thread that Niles has pointed out. Posts are listed in date order, so you'll need to read from the beginning to catch up.

  • I have been using the Eco wash balls for a couple of years now. They are great for lightly soiled washes and if you want the fresh washing smell you can use a little softner in the machine.

I also use the drying balls in the winter IF use the drier and they definately cut drying time by at least a third. (they also make clothes incredibly soft)

I also save any water that builds up in the condenser of the tumble drier for my iron.

I still use washing powder on heavilly soiled items or a Ecover stain remover on on odd marks.

I buy less than a quarter of the washing powder etc than I use to.

  • Hi.

Got some Lakeland washer balls yesterday and just done my second wash using them.

When I came to remove the load I found that one of the grey things from the inside of my washer drum had come off (my OH said they are for pushing the washing round:confused: )

Do you think it's to do with the washer ball banging against them? seems too much of a coincidence for it to be anything else to me

I only got the washing machine in October..

  • Hi can anyone tell me if this ball is any good? I'm not sure if it is the same as the eco balls (I suspect it probably is) but i thought I'd ask around here before buying

That appears to be the ones, although there are several versions around, such as these:

    http://www.nigelsecostore.com/acatalog/eco-balls-wash-kit.html

which appear to work on the same principle as the Lakeland ones.

The Aldi ones listed are seemingly just based on extra 'jiggling' of the laundry to help get the clothes clean, not on 'ions' as the filled ones are.

Personally, I've found the old soda crystals, vinegar (for rinsing) and essential oils to be good, and lots cheaper, and much better than detergents. I worked it out and its more economical than any other way.

  • Does anyone have any experience of these items? They come up regularly on the shopping channels at about £34 for three, plus P&P. You use them in place of washing powder and on an average use of 1 - 2 washes per week, will last about three years. Are they any good? I would like to know how they work.

    Hello yram slim

This subject has been discussed in the 'Old Style' board, in threads like this one:

So I'll move your thread across.

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies.
