I've selected, copied (via ctrl keys, not available with mouse for some reason) and pasted, but nothing happens when I click on submit reply.

Have you ran ccleaner recently to clean the crap out of your system?
 Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:

The reason nothing was happening when I clicked submit reply was because the message was too short! Doh!

    I use macros.

Select the text you want to quote and right click copy.

Go to the other thread you want to quote in.

    TYPE:

    [noparse]
    PUT THE QUOTED TEXT HERE
    [/noparse]

    RESULTING IN:
    PUT THE QUOTED TEXT HERE

    [noparse]

More information can be found here: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/misc.html?do=bbcode

And you can put quotes within quotes:
    And again
    and again
    and again
    and again
    and again

    use markup!
I’ve tried cutting and pasting, but all that did was to provide a link to the previous thread, which wasn’t what I was trying to do

    ..and copy/paste in between
The good news is doing this is now allowing the text to be copied (don't know why I don't have a copy option when right clicking).
remove the spaces for it to work! [ quote ] pasted text [ /quote]
    becomes
    pasted text

the same works for hyperlinks (again, remove the spaces), [ url=www.google.com]google[ /url] becomes
    google
Utinam logica falsa tuam philosophiam totam suffodiant.
