Having tried a million times (well maybe a few less than that, it just feels like it), it would appear that it's the copy facility that's not working. When I try to copy the quote page, copy option doesn't appear, just select all. So I select all, and paste onto the new thread, but all that happens is whatever I've previously copied (ie in a word document) appears, totally unrelated to the text I've tried selecting in the quote. I just don't understand why this is happening. I've re-started my computer, but it still doesn't make any difference. I give up!

You are missing a step

Select text

Copy Text

Paste text
 Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:

try using ctrl c to cut then

The good news is doing this is now allowing the text to be copied (don't know why I don't have a copy option when right clicking).

The bad news is, now I've managed to get that far, I click on submit reply and nothing happens, it just stays on the same page! I'm now having a Victor Meldrew moment!

Many thanks for trying to help anyway.

For some reason, I don't have a copy facility (in this instance) when I right click. I do normally, just on the posts on the forum. I've since tried ctrl and c, which helped to copy, but now I don't get anywhere when submitting reply. Many thanks.

Neither do I until I have selected some text!

I your post above you seemed to expect "I select all, and paste onto the new thread, but all that happens is whatever I've previously copied" to work but you did not copy the selected text!

happens to me also from time to time: refresh the browser page, open up another page (say, Google), copy some text from the page (say, ©2008 Google) and the copy feature should then function again.:)

I've selected, copied (via ctrl keys, not available with mouse for some reason) and pasted, but nothing happens when I click on submit reply.
